RNC Chair: If Anyone in the Medicare Debate has “Blood on Their Hands” it’s Obama

Paul Ryan is being portrayed by the left as an extremist, “severely conservative” and “architect of the Republican plan to kill Medicare.” They will not rest until those mendacious descriptions are all people associate with him. RNC Chair Reince Priebus is having none of it, however, and fired back in an interview on Meet the Press Sunday.

David Gregory: What did he [Ryan] propose in his budget? Which is to change Medicare as we know it. That’s an objective fact because he would change it from how it now operates as a pay for service into a premium support… other people call it a voucher…you give seniors a certain amount of money then they have to get exposed to the private market that’s a fact about what he believes in addition to the fact that on the general budget he certainly wants to cut federal spending way back that would hurt the social safety net. All of those are facts are they not?

Reince Priebus: David, if we do nothing and if we go down the road that this president wants to go down…Medicare will be changed forever as we know it. It’ll be bankrupt by 2024. Medicare is going broke. Every person in America watching this now knows that that’s true. This president stole– he didn’t cut Medicare– he stole $700 billion from Medicare to fund Obamacare. If any person in this entire debate has blood on their hands in regard to Medicare, it’s Barack Obama. He‘s the one that’s destroying Medicare.

We are the ones that are offering solutions as to how to, number one, preserveMedicare for seniors that are at or near retirement, and, number two, figure out a way the make sure that for future generations– we‘re talking about if you’re 54 or younger, how to save Medicare and Social Security.

It’s a debate killer. When Romney stands there and simply asks the old folks if they realized that someone had “stolen” $700 billion from “their” fund. The old folks are going to turn around and ask who stole the money. It’ll dissolve at least half the over 60-vote for the President. The sad thing is that Obama could have simply borrowed the money from the Chinese, and avoided this whole discussion.

If the $700 billion isn’t there....you might as well admit that the entire system now has to shift and change. There’s no chance of it just staying “as is”.

The Republicans need to PROVE to the voters that Obamacare takes away a half trillion dollars from Medicare. They need to cite the exact words in the law so people can see it for themselves. Run a few ads with doctors explaining the detrimental impact it will have on seniors

The problem is people who are too stupid to understand that taking $700 billion dollars from Medicare has already changed it.

Now it’s hard for a thinking person to believe that there are people that stupid, but look at the polls —46% approval for Obama is my proof.

I had a mini debate with a Dem supporter of Obama re the Kenyan fraud’s gutting of Medicare to fund Obamacare to the tune of $500 billion, the amount then known (now $700 billion). The Obamanite flatly denied it. That is precisely the defense with which the Demonrat Party and Obama will respond: a bald-faced denial in the hope that it will be accepted along with the Bamster’s myriad other lies. It’s the big lie technique.

You're absolutely right! Otherwise the 'rats and 0bummer will continue to lie their way out of it.

And what about the polls that show Obama 6 points over Romney?

Yep. Tell your elderly parents and their friends that soon they won’t be on Medicare at all, but Obamacare. If that doesn’t get them to throw away the AARP junk mail, nothing will.

Finally, an RNC chairman who knows how to go for the jugular. Does anyone remember Michael Steele? This is the ticket: put them on the defensive all the time.

All have been shown to be way over sampled of those calling themselves Democrats over the phone vs. those who call themselves Republicans, one again I stress, over the phone.

Then they polled just registered voters and not likely voters.

They say the poll was of a certain number of individuals over a certain number of days but at no time do they ever say that the certain number is the total number of those polled. By doing so, they can pick and choose from the database of answers to get the results they want for the specific customer.

Polling is a business and in such any business who is expecting return customers look to give the customer what they are expecting for the services rendered. So does anyone familiar with business expect that a polling business is going to give the customer the truth rather than what the customer wants? To do so the business must need to know what the customer wants before he enters into an agreement to provide a service so he can hopefully expect a return, or at least referrals, for his service. Since a pollster is commissioned by a customer, it is only the customer who decides if it is to be released to the public.

But, as we have seen time and again, the pollster will always start to zero in on the true numbers the closer we get to the actual vote of real registered likely voters and not just those who say they are one or the other. This usually only occurs starting the last two weeks. There is always tomorrow to consider and the pollster needs to have his final tally as close to the actual vote to gain more business for the next event. All that these skewed polls are intended to do is to shape public opinion in an effort to shape the final vote. Apparently, you are falling for them.

POLLING IS STRICTLY BUSINESS and the public only gets to know what the business feels is in their best interest, the bottom line. The best anyone can tell what those polled are really thinking is in the internals. The questions asked, in what order they were asked and the language or buzz words used in asking. A perfect example would be the wrong vs. right direction of the country.

Was that helpful?

Politians have a better plan than the rest of us. They would get credibility if they cut theirs first before messing with ours. Even better if they had to join the same system.

Yes, very good explanation of polls skewed to Obama. I cited the polls showing the Usurper well ahead of Romney but didn’t say I believed them to be an accurate projection of the election outcome. Vegas and Dick Morris favor the RR team. I know some here think a Dick Morris predication the kiss of death, but Morris presents plausible logic for his prognostication of a big Romney win. And Vegas puts its money where its mouth is. I fantasize 0bummer making his “gracious” concession before the polls close in CA.

Paradoxical Quote of The Day From Ben Stein: “Fathom the hypocrisy of a government that requires every citizen to prove they are insured...but not everyone must prove they are a citizen.”

Now add this, “Many of those who refuse, or are unable, to prove they are citizens will receive free insurance paid for by those who are forced to buy insurance because they are citizens.”
