Does the pick of Paul Ryan for VP mean the Romney camp feels good about Florida? (Vanity)

I've been thinking the Romney's campaign staff must feel good about Florida. I would think if they had even the slightest doubt they would win Florida, they would have gone with Marco Rubio as VP instead of Paul Ryan.

Wisconsin would be a great pick up, but they don't necessarily have to win it to win the election. They do, however, have to win Florida, so they must feel real good about Florida to go with Ryan over Rubio. What do you all think? Any Florida Freepers that can fill us in on the mood down there toward 0bama?

I spend my days interviewing these seniors and I cannot tell you how astute many are. I hear them saying they supported Obama in 2008, but will NOT now.

Remember guys, these people are on a FIXED INCOME. That means that while the gas has doubled, their income has not. While food prices have SOARED, their income has not. Winn Dixie BOGO free specials are the only thing that allows us to even consider meats some days. And I work full time! (albeit as a single mom right now)

Seniors are feeling the day to day effects of Obama more than a lot of people (excluding the unemployed, of course) and Obama urging them to go on food stamps to ‘help’ isn’t making them happy.

It is a good choice, not unlike Bush's choice of Cheney, but with the added advantage that Ryan is young and healthy and would be the favored GOP candidate in 2020 should Romney win and be re-elected in 2016. Obama’s choice of Biden was a sop to the Northeastern and Great Lakes white Catholic and labor union voters who had favored Hillary; the incumbent is evidently uninterested in his succession. Romney is well to focus on the economy and the budget, the two areas of Obama’s greatest vulnerability. Selecting Ryan will be key in his focus, far more than Rubio, Portman, and the other names that have been vetted.
