“Palin will not speak at Republican convention”

Perhaps I’m impertinent for asking, but...

... is not Mrs. Palin under contract with Fox News as a commentator?

If so, why can’t she join the Fox folks in their booth, carrying Fox credentials (surely, this would guarantee her admission into the arena)?

There, she can speak as much as she wants!

While I agree with everybody in spirit....it was Palin who became a reality star with her tv show....it was Palin who had a movie made about her, did a patriotic bus tour and THEN once the dvd was released, decided not to run. It was Palin who went on SNL and gave the libs credibility...instead of fighting back and defending herself. It was Palin who received a multi million dollar contract on Fox News to be a commentator/guest speaker........in every decision she has made since running for VP, she has never decided on running for office or assuming any position within politics or the RNC. If you look at this objectively, it comes as no surprise.

I bet a cheeseburger she and Bush were persuaded to stay away from the GOP-e big top. If Palin wants to stay in the club, she needs to go along.

Palin will not speak at Republican convention

I can't think of anything more stupid for the GOP than to not allow Palin to speak.

Sarah's absence as a speaker will be glaringly apparent. Bad decision.

I don't see the upside.

Gotta’ save room for real Republicans. Like Joe Lieberman.

Wonder how many Doles will speak.

They can’t have her outshining their candidate now, can they? I wonder if Hannity will have her in the booth. Even better, have here there when they cover the RAT convention!

This is sooo outrages, I feel like I am in Alice in Wonderland. One of the most powerful people in the Conservative movement, and she is being shunned???

Romney finally did something good by picking Ryan, but he leaves out the most important person to me.

Where do I go to scream

Honestly I think this is a pragmatic move. The folks (like us) who really respond to her are not voting Obama and she has never been overwhelmingly popular with swing voters. This move makes sense.

Where does it say that she either decline to speak or she was told she wasn’t going to speak? Because that’s really what I want to know. I don’t mind that she isn’t speaking but if the RNC diss her after she was being gracious then something is terribly wrong here

I’ll vote for this RINO clown Romney bolstered however little by Ryan who I hope is not just a party hack toadie.

But, God, I’m sick of being played for a sucker by this so-called Republican party.

Newt Gingrich isn’t speaking either, which to me is more offensive, since he did more for the party historically than almost any other Republican and was a big force in attacking Obama on television this year during the primaries, especially over the energy issue. As far as I understand it, Romney’s camp is entirely responsible for deciding who speaks, so the blame lies at their feet. Sadly it makes it feel like for every encouraging move like selecting Paul Ryan, the Romney camp will turn around and discourage us yet again.

She doen't have to speak at the convention.
If she speaks at the same time, I would tune her in. Doesn't matter to me here she speaks from.

Methinks you folks should keep your powder dry and keep your yaps shut. Mitt Romney & Paul Ryan may just spring Ms. Palin on the convention floor at the absolute last minute for maximum exposure and to screw the liberal, Obamabot, left-wing, media dirt bags.

Based on the massive turnout of voters for Romney/Ryan wherever they went Saturday & Sunday and the dismal rally attendance at every Obama campaign stop... I would say Palin, speaking at the last minute, would be a stunning good move, and would bring the convention to a fever pitch!!!

[Sarah] "This year is a good opportunity for other voices to speak at the convention and I'm excited to hear them,"

Translation: I'm glad I won't be there. I don't want to be under the same roof as Mittens and his orcs. That could get ugly, and I don't want any of that black blood splashed on me.

Serious, unsnarky question: if she were to spek at the convention, would she have to give up her job at Fox News?

Do you know if they offered her a spot? If they didn’t then they are FOOLS!! I could understand Sarah deciding on her own not to speak, but if they didn’t give her the chance that lowers them in my opinion.

Good move by Palin.

I mean if she spoke she’s be Reagan to Mitt’s Gerry Ford circa 1976 and we all know who that worked out.
