I got slammed for that view too last night.

While I like Ryan I have to think of other states. It is not us conservatives which win elections though to some you think it was.

Here in FL we have so many old people and sadly many of them trust the media and do think the AD’s are truthful.

If the GOP act like they did in2008 then it’s over, if they get out there and fight tooth and nail here in FL a state which is must win then we can do it.

I had one poster telling me VA and FL were not southern states, HUH
.
I had another tell me to hell with FL.

Emotion thinking does not get us where we need to be and sadly we have so many on both sides whio use emotions and ignorance instead of their brains

As did I. Even if he was the PERFECT GOP VP candidate in terms of conservative positions and personal attributes (he isn't, but close), he still brings the real possibility of subtracting votes. He is a sitting duck in terms of inviting demagoguery.

If what you say is true, and gov’t reformers are unelectable because of seniors, then why does it matter? The USA cannot continue on it’s current fiscal path. Period. If seniors are so dumb and selfish that they will not allow entitlement reform (reforms that will not even effect them, btw) than the country is going to go bankrupt. Ryan is going to make that case, and it has to be made. Romney obviously agrees. It is a time for choosing in America. Do we want to restore American greatness or become A socialist hellhole with shared misery and poverty? If someone like Ryan, a solutions oriented reformer, someone who wants to restore the values and foundations that made America great, can’t be elected, then we are screwed anyway.

A lot of the more excitable posters thank that we determine elections. Last I looked (on Alexa), this website accounted for 0.025% of web traffic, and Obama won by 6% in 2008. This site is a great place to bat around politically-incorrect conservative ideas, but anyone who thinks it swings elections is getting a little carried away.

Conservatives don’t win the elections? Ok, let’s just stay home then and see if any Republican can win without us.

When Conservatives actually vote, we do win. When Conservatives aren’t exited about a candidate, they stay home and the liberal wins. Which explains why RINOS NEVER win Presidential elections. George Bush Sr is the only one (going back 40 years!) and he only won because Conservatives were dillusional and thought that he would continue the Reagan years. When he reverted to RINO ways, even a victorious war couldn’t save him, because Conservatives were on to him.

- ignore emotional posters. they cant think straight.
- ignore doom-and-gloomers. nothing is ever good enough for eye-ores.
- Ryan is smart, articulate and conservatives.
gosh, if we had that in a president, we’d be thrilled. This is a great pick.
- I dont disagree that Ryan’s budget is a target, but ...
- VP’s rarely change election races much. Its hogwash to say any state is won or lost on this pick. But it WILL help Romney, if only to shore up conservative support - which he NEEDS - and to make this a BIG ISSUE election.
-Romney will win FL, VA and OH... JMHO, but Obama’s shot his wad by demonizing Romney and went too far, yet the polls are tied. If and when Romney/Ryan hammer home the connection between Obama and our failed economy, the’ll pick up the undecideds.
