NORFOLK, Va. (AP) -- Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney has picked Wisconsin congressman Paul Ryan to be his running mate, according to a Republican with knowledge of the development. They will appear together Saturday in Norfolk, Va., at the start of a four-state bus tour to introduce the newly minted GOP ticket to the nation.

AWESOME! Let the leftist meltdown begin. And let the TEA party begin!
Ryan vs. Biden- what a debate THAT will be, hehehe;)
I wish he wouls have picked Pawlenty or Portman and gone with the “adults pick adults” who are ready to run this country approach.
Ryan won’t sell in Florida or even much of the midwest. We may be looking at solid south - Okla - and Utah...basically a landslide. (shaking my head).
Great pick.
Good grief. I wouldn’t even RECOGNIZE either of those guys if I saw them in the news, and I keep up with current events. Paul Ryan has made quite a national name for himself.
Biden Vs Palin was bad enough. Luckily for him the press turned her into damaged goods and nobody would listen to her, or at least not enough. I thought she wiped the floor with him.
Ryan is going to steam roll him.
The young are staying home this time out.......trust me.
Romney loses and then Ryan runs in 2016.
I think we can all finally be happy. :)
BULL, half the undecided stands with Tea Party USA you will find out very soon, Go Romney/Ryan 2012
Ryan will preach “fiscal responsibility” (he has to..it’s on his record bigtime)...and Barack will preach “fiscal responsibility with an understanding to those who need help”.
Once O gets on the “college loan bailout tune” he will have all the youngsters and the parents who are afraid for their kids being indebted right in his %&*^in pocket.
Now that’s not saying that the lying O will follow through after the election...but what does he care as long as he is re-elected.
Not to mention the GOPe meltdown.
Maybe if Romney wasn’t running against Hugo Chavez’s little brother.
giving Governor Scott Walker/Paul an overwhelming victory in the attempted
recall (57% - 42%!) you have resisted national union power, tens of millions in
ads, celebrity exhortations and outside activists ykou
have shown the liberal-labor cabal that we are all mad as hell and we aren’t going to take it any more!
This was the Beginning of The Tea Party Success, now we take it National Go Romney/Ryan
And Obama has a four year record proving he didn't get this done.
Obama would be a lame duck. Fire is cleansing. We really need to burn-off Liberal Romney.

If lying is the only way to win as you so cynically claim, then I don’t want to win. But the people who want to be lied to will vote for Obama no matter what. He can have them. Beyond that crowd of cultists, give Anericans a little credit. They know our budget situation is unsustainable and Ryan is just the man to provide the solution and to show them why we need to get serious now and not just leave it for some future more courageous president to solve. Read the piece on Drudge right now about how Ryan became the intellectual leader of the GOP. It shows he’s brilliant at making the case about the need to get our nation’s/ finances in order and what it will mean if we don’t to voters. This is a great pick that now makes this a big election about big things. It becomes now an election about the nation’s future, not just about holding power for the sake of holding power like Obama, while doing little to move the country forward with that power. Romney wins that kind of election, Obama wins an election about small things.
And Ryan is an adult pick and a courageous one. The guy is scary smart and is imminently capable of taking the reigns if it became necessary. If he’s not qualified to be president, no one is.
Paul Ryan impressed me during the healthcare debate. After listening to member after member ramble on about what the bill was and wasn’t, I got a serious case of tired head. But Paul Ryan spoke about specifics in the bill and I knew that he had actually read the darn thing. I am a senior who is not afraid of a medicare overhaul, as it sucks. Not all seniors are morons, most are willing to give back if it helps the country. I don’t think Ryan does anything but add clarity to a race that mitt cannot begin to explain, thus his lagging in the polls. Rubio would have also been a good pick but all the others mentioned added nothing to a bland ticket. Frankly I am suprised, as I expected Mitt to pick Portman who would have put the rest of the Country asleep.

Paul Ryan grills President Obama at Health Care Summit
been dragging the DUmp and this truly scares them .....GOOD SIGN
Young undecideds just want a job. Ryan can articulate how Romney can help.
People are not voting for the second guy/gal that might be charge if something goes horribly wrong they are looking at the top of the ticket. The one who will have the power that will be making the plan.
The second banana position is just that, the second banana, they will be doing ribbon cuttings and opening bridges to nowhere as needed. And if they do give a speech it will be to echo what ever the President has set into motion.
I am going balls out for the RR ticket (RR=Ronald Reagan coincidence i think not)
!
palin easily gave mcdumbass 5 points so your arguement is invalid
sorry for the spelling errors but i’m pretty lit
Great post—but don’t buy that Romney is lagging in the polls. Those polls wat overpolls Democrafs, esp this new crapola Fox poll. The most accurate poll from 2008 according to a study by the political science dept at Fordham Unkversity shows Romney leading by 4 points over the last 2 days. Fox’s polll was #10 in accuracy. They and most of the others take no care in netting a political demographic that either reflects the nation’s actual party registration percentages or a turn out model based on ye most recent election or at least the likelyhood or level of energy of each party’s voters. Rasmussen is the only one who does, thus their great track record in not just 2008 but in the last 5 election cycles. Toss the other polls. They’re wishful thinking reflecting the biases of the liberals running them.
Yes it was painfully obvious how out of touch King Obama was during that exchange. I understand Obama has a specific plan to bring down America so more people are willing to give up even more rights for govermental intervention in their lives.
Ryan could have done some good right where he is. As VP he will do only what Romney wants him to do and that Fabian socialist Romney wants the exact same end as the Marxist currently in the white house. There has been a lot of spew about not making the same mistake when picking a VP and picking someone with executive experience that can step into the presidents office if necessary and do the job. Palin is still more qualified than all of this cycles and last cycles candidates put together. So what does the RNC and Romney do they pick some one only marginally more qualified than Obama. Fey on the GOP, when they get their heads out of the communist backside I might start voting for them again.
BS Ryan will kick ass
Romneys pick of Ryan ended Ryans political career.
If this is true, then it’s an excellent choice.
I’m not an enthusiastic Romney supporter; but with Ryan on the ticket, I won’t be sitting it out on 11/4. Ryan will have my vote, and Romney along with him.
An excellent decision.
Ryan will bring the base back and we will win here’s why

>> Romneys pick of Ryan ended Ryans political career.
Nonsense.
Bottom Line if the Headliner can't carry the ticket it is a lost cause.
John McCain and so many others have proven it time after time.
Awesome choice!
Part of the Group, along with Mitch and the Gang, that went right along and willingly met with The Undocumented Coffee Server at Blair House.
They all should have never shown to begin with.
Ryan is great I know he is great. Ryan in the VP office is effectively neutralized and can do nothing beyond what the president wants him to do. The VP can not cut spending only congress can do that.
“Ryan wont sell in Florida”
Rubio will do that. He is still campaigning for Romney. Get a grip, we’re winning Florida.
BTW, the youth is not going to turn out for the assclown Kenyan this time.

Ryan is the man to bring the base into our camp for beating Obama if you cant see it too bad for you!
Romney WINS in 2012 and so does Ryan. Then the people that deserve to be happy will be, and those that aren’t happy with that result can pound sand and go cry some for Obama.
LOL It's cool drinking and posting are OK LOL
Hmm...I don't think they issue cyber PWI's
Just in Case: As a PSA I do not endorse drinking and posting which can lead to bad spelling, very poor grammer, and whacked out crazy thoughts processes. Thank you.
Romney winning would be the result of running unopposed. Then if he acted as he said he would when speaking to the student body at the Citadel he would eclipse Reagan and leave him looking like the Democrat he was in the thirties. But if Romney acts the same as he did when governor of Massachusetts then he will be reviled and hated to such an extent that Ryan will be painted the same. Actions have always spoken louder than words.
Just think of him as “future President Ryan” and you will feel better.
Nominating a future leader of the party is a priceless gift that can only be given by a man with vision who actually cares about the future of the country.
Think about it.
As a bonus Ryan will be the attack-dog on the campaign trail. That is a game changer. He will chew up the Obiden team.
