OBAMA: ROMNEY WANTS VP PETRAEUS
Tue Aug 07 2012 12:01:02 ET

**Exclusive**

President Obama whispered to a top fundraiser this week that he believes GOP presidential hopeful Mitt Romney wants to name Gen. David Petraeus to the VP slot!

"The president wasn't joking," the insider explains to the DRUDGE REPORT.

A Petraeus drama has been quietly building behind the scenes.

Romney is believed to have secretly met with the four-star general in New Hampshire.

The pick could be a shrewd Romney choice. A cross-party pull. The Obama administration hailed Petraeus as one of history's greatest military strategists. Petraeus was unanimously confirmed as the Director of the CIA by the US Senate 94-0.

But Petraeus has categorically asserted that he has NO political ambitions. And Team Obama stands prepared to tie one of their own to "Bush wars." A Petraeus pick could been seen as simply shuffling the decks of power in DC.

"He's a serious man, for seriously dangerous times," notes a top Republican.

A DRUDGE POLL on Tuesday morning showed readers split on if Romney should give it a go.

And the calendar is running out of days.

Mark Levin has no eligibility issues with Rubio (neither do I).

Levin was recently writing two books at once. One was a book about the Constitution. The other was a book about his dead dog. Apparently, the dog died after eating Article II out of Levin's copy of The Constitution.

This Levin guy evidently has no problems with anyone's eligibility. I have a problem with Obama's eligibility, and that of Rubio. Unless Levin or yourself are cashing a SCOTUS paycheck, my opinion is as good as yours or Levin's.

Since the right-wing "Conservative Talk Radio" people are going to remain silent, the very least they could do is recognize it as an issue that concerns a goodly number of their listeners, and ask the courts to get off their duffs and consider it.

Speaking of "P," the only general who could save the republic is Pinochet, who although still dead, probably has more fight in him than The Mormon Milquetoast. Obama is our Allende.

Somebody ought to tell Mitt to tough and to get busy. He ain't gonna sweet-talk this MF out of free housing.

I do not know if you are a lawyer or a constitutional scholar, but why don’t you, if you have the stones, call the Mark Levin Show and challenge him on this issue. Or go to his facebook or Twitter page and ask him.

Here is the number: 6pm - 9pm EDT 1-877-381-3811

If he is wrong, correct him. He would be civil about it you ask him nicely.

But not until 7 years after he retires from the military by law, which would be 2018.

It's Jindal.

Look at his schedule for Thursday: No state business, he'll be leaving the state early in the morning on loan to the Romney campaign, ostensibly to campaign in Colorado Springs (same day as Obama!). He could easily divert and end up along side Romney in Iowa before anyone was the wiser.

Can we track his plane on flight aware? Like we did in 2008 with Palin? That was so fun. Gulfstream V, flight plan Scottsdale-->Anchorage-->Dayton Ohio, obvious what was going on many hours before the MSM figured it out. Freepers were all over it

Ryan would be a good pick, he’s excites conservatives but is still fairly “safe”. Good balance. I don’t know whether WI law would require him to exit his House race if he is chosen.

How much did we know about obama before the election and how much do we really know now, except his desire to destroy this country. We know Petreus loves this country and I’ll bet he’s more libertarian than liberal. He ain’t talking.

“Ryan would be a good pick, ..”

Ryan or Jindal would show us that Romney is trying to reach out to conservatives.
