As NewsBusters previously reported, actor Zach Galifianakis on Monday attacked the Koch brothers saying "They are creepy" and 'It’s not freedom what they are doing."
Philip Ellender, President of Government and Public Affairs, Koch Companies Public Sector, LLC, responded to this nonsense via email moments ago:
"Last we checked, the movie is a comedy. Maybe more to the point is that its laughable to take political guidance or moral instruction from a guy who makes obscene gestures with a monkey on a bus in Bangkok. We disagree with his uninformed characterization of Koch and our beliefs. His comments, which appear to be based on false attacks made by our political opponents, demonstrate a lack of understanding of our longstanding support of individual freedom, freedom of expression, and constitutional rights."
For those unfamiliar with the reference, Galifianakis in Hangover II made such a sexual gesture with a monkey, a water bottle, and an old man.
Yet as he told the New York Daily News Monday, he believes he's superior to others:
A lot of times, these regular people have good intentions, but they are not that qualified, he says. I think Marty [his character in his new film] would be a Tea Party kind of guy, which is so old-fashioned but also kind of tough for me to support. I understand Tea Partyers anger with the system, but they are in way over their heads and often racially motivated, and I cant be part of that.
So to Galifianakis, Tea Party members "are in way over their heads and often racially motivated." Meanwhile, comedians such as him are far better:
The reason comedy got really big in the last few years is because of politics, he says. Comics have great B.S. detectors. When the Iraq war started 10 years ago, the folk singers were no longer around to point out that maybe we shouldnt be all gung-ho about this. It was the comedians who filled that role. The comedians are the first to rebel against a corrupt system, like the one that is preventing me from watching the Olympics right now.
You got that?
Tea Party members "are in way over their heads and often racially motivated," but Comics have great B.S. detectors."
Apparently, this comic's "B.S. detector" is either malfunctioning, doesn't work on its owner, or both.
The comedians are the first to rebel against a corrupt system, like the one that is preventing me from watching the Olympics right now.HUH?? He's rebelling against NBC? What am I missing here? Does he want to overthrow NBC for its delayed broadcasts of the Olympics?
Yea, the entertainment industry is so squeaky clean and not corrupt in the least. What a joke.
That is the core of all Leftist belief: I am smarter than everyone and therefore know whats best for one and all. If you agree with me, you too, know whats best for the little people.
If you disagree with me you are a moron.
I LOVE the Koch brothers! If they ever get to S. Florida, they can have lunch on me at Chik-Fil-A!!!:)
If I were into that sort of thing, I’d want some of what this “comedian” is smoking.
>> “The comedians are the first to rebel against a corrupt system”
Said the Leftwing, scripted sycophant.
I do not recall the title of one of them though, but the other 4 were:
The Passion of the Christ
Hidalgo
Act of Valor
War Horse
Neither have I and I am sure we are not the only ones
COMEDIANS are the first to rebel -—Such a LIE! So, Socrates, Jesus Christ, Sam Adams and Thomas Paine and Witherspoon, Susan B Anthony, and the Rev. MLK were “Comedians”????
These guys should REALLY have no platform for their insanity and puerile thinking.
I watched about 15 minutes of one of his “routines”. He has some deep psychological issues in regards to Conservatives. If I remember correctly he may have grown up in a Conservative home (I could be wrong). So basically he is like much of Hollywood, he just never grew out of the rebellious adolescent phase. On top of that he had an ego the size of Obama. That pretty much comes across in the excerpts posted above.
His uncle was a Democrat Congressman who lost reelection to Jesse Helms.
#5 was “Inconvenient Truth”, right?
