Chick-fil-A 'Kiss in' protest small compared to appreciation day
LA Times ^ | 8/4/2012 | staff

A week of debate over the issue of gay marriage ended Friday with a "Kiss Off" organized by gay rights activists at Chick-fil-A restaurants.

Couples sent in photos of themselves kissing at restaurants around the nation to various gay-rights websites. But the protests appeared to draw far fewer people than an event earlier this week in support of the chicken chain.

Huge crowds turned out Wednesday in a show of support for company President Dan Cathy, who ignited a national debate by publicly expressing his opposition to same-sex marriage. Critics have also said the company supports causes harmful to gays and lesbians.

The scene on Friday was much quieter at locations across the Southland.

Among those who came out to support gay marriage at Costa Mesa’s Chick-Fil-A on Friday afternoon was the Rev. Sarah Halverson of Fairview Community Church.

“I felt like it was an important opportunity to stand on behalf of love and inclusion and gay couples,” she said. “Love is love, and God has given us love to be shared.”

The Lame Stream Media sure tried to make the gay day a big deal but now it looks like they have to admit it was a flop.

Let’s see... gays make up a tiny fraction of the population, and gay “marriage” does not have much support...

Who, seriously, was expecting a large turn-out?

The vandalism at that restaurant was a nice illustration. I love when actions display who and what the left really are.

It was actually a pretty childish idea in the first place.

Some one estimated 5 to 10 million customers on Wednesday.

I’m not sure where they got that number, but it certainly was doable. With, what, 1700 stores that would be between 2500 and 5500 customers each.

WOW. The media is absolutely pathetic! This is the worst job of news reporting I ever heard.
APPEARED to draw far fewer??
Were the 100’s of thousands of perverts participating ina kiss-in at Chick-Fil-A’s or not?
Not that hard a question. If as I believe there were likely several thousand across the Nation the the article should clearly state that the counter protest was a major flop!

Friday was a very busy day at Chick-fil-A around here. Tons of people loving the chicken, no kissing. I would have kissed my spouse, but most of us work for a living.

The news in pittsburgh led off with the ‘massive’ protests last night. A whopping 2 people which swelled to a whole dozen lol took the lead on the newd and got nearly 2 minutes of coverage. Wed saw endless lines all day long and got about 30 seconds 10 minutes into the news. The bias is so obvious and pathetic.

It's obvious and pathetic . . . UNLESS someone does not know the facts. That's how they sold Obama. That's how they CONTINUE selling Obama. And it's how they are selling gay marriage to our kids.

How about the real truth?

There were more presstitutes than gay kissers.

Hell, more media reported on Adam Smith's "apology" than the overwhelming show of support for CFA.

There were twice as many reporters and media types then there were sodomites and lesbians. Massive FAIL.

Agree so much with your observation here. The “already captured press” did its’ level best to diminish the coverage of the Monday event at Chick -fil-A-and its’ best to increase the impact of the so called Kiss in protest. It is my prayer that the minds of the people know the difference and that the people will continue to resist and oppose all attacks by the liberal establishment against “marriage”

If ANYTHING GOES has to be the law of the land, at what point is any line drawn? With “gay” marriage comes further “laws” that have to be made in order to “protect” the “rights” of participants; laws that infringe on the “rights” of other people. - If every behavior in the imagination must be catered to; where’s the cut-off point? Must I “respect” the rights of those who want to sexually abuse animals, maybe legalize “marriage” to animals, simply because a few people WANT it? - At what point does one just flush this crap and forget it?

“Kiss In Day” seems to have been more of a “Light Peck On The Cheek Day”.
