This bill would, commencing July 1, 2013, and with certain exceptions, prohibit any person from importing, making, selling, loaning, transferring, or possessing any conversion kit, as defined, designed solely and exclusively to convert certain firearms with a fixed magazine into firearms with the capacity to accept a detachable magazine and other features making the firearm an assault weapon and would make violations subject to criminal penalties. By creating new crimes, this bill would impose a state-mandated local program.

More from the bill:

"This bill would, commencing July 1, 2013, make possession of a conversion kit a public nuisance, would authorize a civil action to enjoin possession of a conversion kit, would authorize imposition of a civil fine, and, with certain exceptions, would, similarly, require disposition of the conversion kit. Existing law authorizes a person to arrange in advance to relinquish an assault weapon to a police or sheriff's department. This bill would authorize a person to arrange in advance to relinquish a conversion kit to a police or sheriff's department. The California Constitution requires the state to reimburse local agencies and school districts for certain costs mandated by the state. Statutory provisions establish procedures for making that reimbursement. This bill would provide that no reimbursement is required by this act for a specified reason."

When Connecticut has better gun laws than Klownifornia, it’s time to move out. Leave the place to the freaks and the gardeners and move.

While the State of California tries to make criminals out of law abiding citizens, the real criminals get out of jail free.

California is what a state looks like, when you fill it’s legislature with politicians who have been sleeping with their first political cousins for several generations.

That’s right. All but for one year, the California Legislature has been Democrat controlled since 1970. And when it was in Republican control, Willie Brown and the Democrats joined to vote in a Liberal Republican they could control like a marionette leaving them with effective control. That’s 42 years folks.

How’s that working for us Californians?

We have had Republican Governors, at least in name, but even the not so bad ones couldn’t get anything very productive passed through the legislature.

Think the Democrats would remain silent if the Republican party had control of the U. S. Congress for 40 years, or even California?

Sadly, the leadership of the Republican party of California will take another ten years to realize it’s not in control.

Oughta tell you something right there sports fans.

Governor Quinn amended a perfectly good bill in Illinois this week as well. Illinois is what Axelrod and Obama see as the future of this country. Large city, Chicago, completely dominating legislation for the remainder of the state.

And, we have crappy weather.

I moved my family to Idaho in 2000 when it was abundantly clear that the endless attack on firearms was going to put me in legal jeopardy. I have no further concerns. My property is out of CA. I’m wrapping up a contract in San Diego. Returning home to Idaho as soon a possible. There is no reason for me to deal with CA. My employer is disengaging at a steady pace. I wouldn’t be surprised if the company notified CA based employees of pending closures and relocation of operations out of CA. The looming sequestration threat may pull the trigger.

You know, they’re making felons out of 99.9999% of gun owners.

Gun owners aren’t the problem. It’s absolutely pathetic what the California Legislature is doing.

The problem is, you complain and your on a list. You can’t win.

Every day I realize more and more the accuracy of the predictions of Atlas Shrugged and 1984. I think every one in California and most of the country are criminals based upon the myriad of laws passed.

Okay, righty.

This will go down in flames in court....I hope.

I’d hate to move because I ain’t giving nothing to anyone.

I worked for and paid for it, while it was legal and lawful. You will not be taking it from me by creating as you say “A New Crime”.

Oh, Ho, Ho, Ho...you are so smart.

GFY yuh gun grabbing Kommie....

“When Connecticut has better gun laws than Klownifornia, it’s

I would rather send “the freaks and the gardeners” back to
Klownecticut and other places from whence they came and
return my state to what it was when we elected Ronald
Reagan governor in ‘66.

Good luck with that and I’ll bet more of them are home grown or from Mexico than from Connecticut. There’s only 3,000,000 people here and a lot of them never move at all.
