I really don’t understand the American obsession with Israel
<>br It's a Bible thing. We believe it (a least used to). Genesis 12:3

China has everything but Obama’s Black American Express card, and we’re sweating what Israel knows?

I’ll bet Israel doesn’t have pictures of the inside of Obama’s rectum. China? Odds are at least 50/50...

How many times have folks here recently heard of Israel being referred to as an Ally, let alone a “Tight Middle-East Ally”? As others have said, I see Israel as an ally, but this administration sees it as big a pariah, as it sees our own nation to be.

Israel is on it’s own and it knows it. Furthermore, it knows who Obama actually does see as his ally, namely it’s most fervent enemies.

If Israel is spying, I wish it good luck against this bastard and his anti-Western fellow travelers.

This is what happens when radical Arab Muslims from countries that have enormous trade surpluses with the U.S. figure out that they can lobby the U.S. government just as effectively as AIPAC has been doing for years.

The various oil regimes have figured out they have more than enough money to buy all the political support they need.

Are you a religious person? Pollard is. He didn’t do anything for money. There was no loss to the US. Pollard is a good American, a godly Jew.

How gives a damn about his religion?

This guy was spying against the U.S., and is a GD liar and traitor.

May G-d bless Jonathan Pollard, a good American, a courageous Jew.

So everyone I've ever met in the US intelligence community and military thinks Pollard should have been shot.

You are aware that he attempted to sell information to countries other than Israel, don't you?

“May G-d bless Jonathan Pollard...”

You don’t have to cover up “God” here. We’re all friends wishing the best in who we trust! n/s

I am aware of that, but it doesn't make any difference.

America is an independent sovereign country, which Pollard was spying against, which he denied and lied about, but subsequently was proven guilty by substantial evidence.

End of story.

Those coming in here calling this guy a hero, are full of cheat and likely would betray America just as Pollard did.

Considering the extensive military technology sales by Israel to China, what Israel knows is potentially what China knows, as well.

I’m very pro-Israeli, but I have to say that the Americans have every right to treat Israel as a spy threat seeing as how they have been caught selling sensitive technology to China.
I don’t blame Israel at all in doing what it can to survive in a hostile world that seems to wish it would just shrivel up and die, but that doesn’t mean the US Gov’t should be naive enough to trust them implicitly...

Pollard is a good American

That's obviously not true. He's a traitor, and at best, he should be sent to Guantanamo and housed with the prisoners there.

The attitude of some on this thread, including you, suggests that security clearances for Jewish Americans (as opposed to Americans who happen to be Jewish) should be re-evaluated across the board.

Wrong. Jesus was the fulfillment of the Law. The Jews are no more the Chosen of God. Christ’s love brought salvation to all and the Chosen are now all those in communion with him.

Our foreign policy which derives from how our intel is “non-thinking” always sees threats where the place is actually beneficial, and benefits where the place is not, and sometimes it does not even see it, because it is corrupt.

Again, we fail on language. We do the right things for the wrong reasons and the wrong things for the right reasons, or mentioning good reasons for it.

Ridiculous.

Well, we finally took the Israelis behind the woodshed and got them to stop the most egregious stuff, apparently.

Try Googling "Israel Military Technology China."

The Jews are no more the Chosen of God.

Take it up with the King of the Universe.

23 The word of the L-RD came to Jeremiah: 24 “Have you not observed that these people are saying, ‘The L-RD has rejected the two clans that he chose’? Thus they have despised my people so that they are no longer a nation in their sight. 25 Thus says the L-RD: If I have not established my covenant with day and night and the fixed order of heaven and earth, 26 then I will reject the offspring of Jacob and David my servant and will not choose one of his offspring to rule over the offspring of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. bFor I will restore their fortunes and will have mercy on them.” Jeremiah 33:23-26

Cover Him up? Never. That is why we treat His Name and any reference to Him the way we do. There are many ways to sanctify His Name - primarily by keeping His commandments - symbolic things like never placing a Bible on the floor, keeping His Name or references to Him from being erased are simply reminders to ourselves - those symbolic things aren’t for those who don’t understand them, they are for us. Just ignore it if you don’t like it.

I agree that Israel has been doing some of this. It was the word extensive that perked up my ears.

I don’t agree with Israel sharing technology with China. I would like to think it’s short-sighted. Then again, Israel needs a big ally, and we’re sending all the wrong signals. We’ve got Obama willing to sell out anyone/anything to do the U. S. and it’s allies in.

We can bet Israel isn’t the only nation reviewing their alliances right now.

In truth, under Clinton China had access to just about anything it wanted. I’m not totally convinced Israel gave them much of anything they didn’t already have. They probably did from what I’ve read. It’s unfortunate to be sure.

THAT SUCKING SOUND YOU HEAR Mitty sucking up-----and being sucked up to----by the Israelis.

Few years back, Israel threw out all the Mormons b/c they were proselytizing Jews to convert. Now they gotta deal with a Mormon presidential candidate. Watta knish of a dilemma.

Since Netanyahoo is being billed as Mitty's "friend" chances are there will be a tit for tat---maybe even Pollard will go free?

BACKSTORY Pollard, a former Navy analyst who pled guilty in 1987 of passing secrets to Israel, is currently serving a life sentence for his crimes. Israeli President Shimon Peres will reportedly ask President Obama to consider a pardon for Pollard at a meeting today. And Reps. Christopher Smith (R-NJ) and Eliot Engel (D-NY) have written a letter asking Obama to release Pollard. (Excerpt) Read more at politico.com ...

==========================================

Vote-crazed Obama is going whole hog----giving Israel a-n-o-t-h-e-r $70 million US tax dollars to oil the vote-making machine....AND Obama is conferring the prestigious US Presidential Medal of Freedom on Israeli president Shimon Peres.

This is touted as a major opportunity to gain Pollard's release. News reports say Israel at first refused to acknowledge Pollard's spying---but in 1995 Pollard was made a citizen of Israel by then-prime minister Netanyahu (now the current PM).

Jonathan and Anne Pollard on their wedding day. They
divorced after they got caught spying. She lives in
Israel after her release from jail. He remarried in prison.

Pollard is in jail this long b/c he greatly undermined US ntl security for the benefit of our "best friend in the Mideast."

Pollard, the Israeli citizen, "said" he only spied for Israel and stole a million top secret US documents b/c of idealogy. Yet, Pollard was paid to do the dirty work---that involved stealing a million pieces of top secret US intel---his then-wife got paid w/ expensive jewelry. She went to jail but was released when she faked illness.

One of the terms for Israel getting trillions of US tax dollars is that they are supposed to share their Mideast intel with us. I guess they never got wind of 9/11---and dozens of other bombings---which were planned in their backyard (/snix).

"To you stupid Americans, Pollard is a criminal. In Israel, we consider him a hero."
