Santorum's "Take One for the Team" Policy Among Republicans with Romney as President

Recalling how the president announced earlier this year his order not to pursue deportation of illegal aliens who complete high school or join the military, Goode noted that “Romney wouldn’t come out against the short-term amnesty. He was just going with the wind. If Obama were president, Republicans in Congress would oppose him on things like this on principle and almost unanimously. But if Romney were president, he would probably get it through (Congress).

“Remember how (Republican presidential candidate Rick) Santorum explained his vote for the No Child Left Behind (federal education program under George W. Bush) by saying: ‘Sometimes you’ve got take one for the team.’ That’s the argument Romney would use with Republicans to get them to pass things they normally wouldn’t oppose.”

This is called "holding Romney's feet to the fire." Too many ABO's sit quietly and permit Romney to say anything because they don't want to upset the apple cart.

That, of course, is the opposite of what they've promised...to hold Romney's feet to the fire.

About mid-October, the Romney camp will publicize Virgil Goode’s record of arrest for indecent exposure that was, supposedly, expunged years ago.

Voting for Goode in a blue state is a smart move, especially when the alternative is staying home. It is a way to actually register your protest. Doing so in a contested state or a marginal red state is stupid.

Instead of dream weaving that they might manage “to hold Romney’s feet to the fire” they need to leave off those drastic plans for destroying his feet...

He needs them to stomp out of the convention hall in anger Romney style at the GOP nomination next mouth when the Conservatives revolt in true “American exceptionalism” fashion and succeed in putting a real patriotic in as our worthy candidate...

Virginia’s Goode could be Romney’s undoing

Romney undid himself more than forty years ago, when he became a flaming liberal.

The case for Romney.

He's flexible and willing to make adjustments when necessary.

We have discussed this before. If we can take the senate and hold firm the House of Representatives, Obama will have to survive on EO’s (executive orders) alone, because he will be frozen in place, unable to move anything or get a single thing funded.

With Romney, Republican majorities will pass socialism for the show if nothing else. This has been the opinion of many of us since Romney floated to the top like the corpse he is.

These hysterical tools used by the party who are voting fearfully for Romney will find themselves in shock with a Romney win, more than they can imagine, with all their big talk about holding feet to the fire “after the election”. How desperate. The Republicans have rejected them wholesale but for using them as pack mules to get Romney over the line to be discarded later.

We are in trouble, but it isn’t us who started this, it’s those who have slept, cooperated, complied and cowered.

The politics of Virginia reflect a state that is beginning to experience a conflict between its increasingly liberal northern region and its traditionally conservative southern region. Although traditionally conservative and historically part of the South, modern Virginia is a politically competitive state for both major national parties.

As federal spending continues to grow, a substantial chunk winds up in Northern Virginia. Virginia will NEVER again vote for a presidential candidate serious about reigning in federal agency and federal government power and growth.

Has Goode challenged Obama to a presidential debate yet?

Not taking his calls?

Goode’s just another Democrat for Obama. Came a bit too late in life to “awaken” to the corruption in liberalism, if you ask me.

Per this Web site Are you considering voting for a third party candidate in 2012 Presidential election? Which?, Freeper Tom Hoefling (Eternalvigilance) is on the ballot in Florida only thus far.

Tom, are you on any other states???

I see your VP nominee is from Tennessee. Will you get on there?

With two REAL conservatives on the Florida ballot (Virgil Goode & Tom Hoefling), that will make the Florida race quite interesting!!!!

Goode, in fact, feels that “in many ways, for conservatives, it might be better to have Obama as president next year rather than Romney.”

It won't be good for THIS conservative! I shudder to think what an 'unbridled by the need for re-election' Obama would do to this country.

I want to see him defeated and humiliated, and as many as can be defeated, his Democrat buds in the Senate and House along with him.

Anyone here know of any of Hillary Romney’s actions that have been reversed in Massachusetts?

Anyone have any evidence that Hillary Romney is now acknowledging his regrets for signing Extortion-Care in Massachusetts?

Goode is not "drawing my vote away from Romney". ROMNEY NEVER HAD MY VOTE.

If the pubbies had wanted to win, they should have run a candidate conservatives could support.

Virgil Goode is a trivial pretender. His reason for running is to pat himself on the back and stroke his own vanity. He has delusions of relevance

Isn't voting for Goode a half hearted measure? If you want to reelect Obama just skip the middle man and send a donation to Obama, that's your real goal right?

Yes, prove what a conservative you are by voting for the guy who was a Democrat representative during Clinton’s second term.

If Obama gets another term this country is FINISHED. Some of you appear ready to give up on the country-not me. King Obama has figured out that he can simply create his own laws and there’s nothing anyone will do to stop him. If these issues get to the court, it will take years and years to even get any answer if someone actually brings up a lawsuit.

Imagine the Supreme Court justices this guy will pick next. Gutting our defense. Amnesty for all illegals. Triple dip depression. Seizure of private property, guns and bank accounts. The continued implementation of Obamacare etc etc etc.

This mindset that somehow Romney and Obama are one and the same appears to stem from some sort of hysterical delusion. Romney is far from a perfect candidate but those of you that cast a defacto vote for the Marxist in Chief-I hope you get what you deserve. We can recover from Mitt Romney. Will never recover from this marxist’s 2nd term on the throne.
