FORT MYERS, Fla. (AP) -- The deadly shooting spree in Colorado consumed the presidential campaign Friday, sidetracking a bitter political contest with a tragedy that at least temporarily brought the candidates together in common purpose.

President Barack Obama and Republican challenger Mitt Romney altered their campaign schedules to address the killings.

There wasn't a concealed carrier there?

Here in NC, you're not supposed to carry in movie theatres, sports arenas, opera houses, and other "paid entrance" venues.

Nuts to that, after this incident.

The media has made this Country a bunch of wussies. Lincoln campaigned during the Civil War. FDR during WWII.
What the media “really” wants is Mitt to suspend His campaign while Obama flies to Colorado to console the victims. Makes for good theater.

I fail to see that this shooting has any connection with the presidential campaign or provides any reason to “shake up” the campaign of either candidate.

This good for Obama another week in which the real issues of the nation are put on hold. And if Mitt were out there attacking he will be called heartless..... by our friends in the media....

there are at least two things happening here:

1. The media will give saturation coverage to this story for the next few days, so the presidential campaign will not be front and center. So both campaigns think it best to lie low.

2. The Obamabots are planning how to get the best political advantage out of this. Tucson was supposed to be Obama’s “Oklahoma City” moment, but it didn’t work out too well for him. So they may try to make this that sort of moment. All manufactured of course.

Exactly. Except it gives Hussein some extra face time.

6 Americans 5 men and one women were slaughtered last week by islamofacists.
They did not suspend the political campaign for that.
In fact neither candidate made any mention of it all

It doesn't. But it sounds good and feels good.

And as a bonus, it gives obma a stage to make his pitch for the U.N.s Small Arms Ban Treaty to the fools. Also, he gets to blame George Bush, Sarah Palin, Mitt Romney, the The Party movement, a milita group, and a White Supremacist group, and lax "gun laws".

Me, personally? I am still expecting a "Reichstag's Fire" incident.

No surprise, the Progressive Fascists in the political class are such shameless scum they will not hesitate for a second to try and exploit this tragedy.

It is this sort of sleazy scumbag exploitative behavior that renders people like these complete unfit to hold any political office.
