Chick-fil-A President Says Company Opposes Gay Marriage
foxnews.com ^ | 7/18/12 | Todd Starnes

The president of Chick-fil-A said his company is “guilty as charged” when it comes to supporting traditional marriage and warned that gay marriage is “inviting God’s judgment on our nation.”

Dan Cathy, the president and chief operating officer, told Baptist Press that the company founded by his father was unapologetically in favor of traditional marriage.

they risk being further marginalized

Cathy’s comments brought condemnation from the Human Rights Campaign

Chicken With a Side of Bigotry: Chick-fil-A’s Ungodly Business Plan

his stance against gays and lesbians is not only distasteful, it is stupidly counterproductive to business (and what could be holier than the bottom line)

___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ The pro-gay marriage crowd keep making such comments as above but if I'm not mistaken Chick-fil-a keeps making profit year after year after year.

He and his father have famously kept the chain private because going public would inevitably lead to opening their doors on Sunday after pressure from their shareholders. I think they’ll continue to operate their company as they see fit.

However, they do have to answer to their franchisees, but they are very selective: you can’t, for example, own more than one franchise.

Funny how Fox news wrote this story up as Cathy supports “traditional marriage”. Other “news” outlets wote it as Cathy opposes “marriage equality”, like he’s some kind of troglodyte. How I HATE the liberal media.

Also notice he jabbed the divorcees as well:

We are a family-owned business, a family-led business, and we are married to our first wives.

Think divorcees (or the MSM on their behalf) will raise a stink, or only the ultrahypersensitive LGBT community?

Am I dreaming? WONDERFUL! They have NOTHING to worry about from the double-gated freaks at the HRC. We the People will give them more business than they could ever imagine to support this principled stand.

I've noticed something odd as a result of being on facebook. I have some gay friends on fb, but they never post anything about gay rights or gay marriage. They post mainly about their pets and other innocuous subjects. But there are a few straights that seem obsessed with gay marriage and post links and photos about it incessantly. Nice that fb has a "hide story" function. Those friends that post Obama crud get the "unsubscribe" function.

I like their food a lot (and generally, it’s very healthy for fast food); the only reason I don’t go there more often is their location. It does bother me a little that businesses are open every day; it was illegal in Chicago for car dealerships to be open on Sunday, the thinking was that people deserved a day of worship/family time, and when people needed a car, they would buy one on the other days of the week. But in this era, I don’t think that this would work.

You have to give them some credit for taking a stand; it’s their company (privately held)...but the franchisees will take the brunt of the backlash.

Just had my first one today.

I had the charbroiled one, with the "criss cross" fries. Mrs China Clipper had a regular sandwich.

All and all not bad for $12 total.

BTW, noticed that since 1946 they do NOT open on Sundays. How quaint.

Chick-fil-A is a family-oriented, Christian centered restaurant. Their background music is even Christian.
They employ nothing but the friendlinest people. What in the world is wrong with a company stating it’s Christian values? Am I missing something here? All restaurants should be as family-friendly as Chick-fil-A. I support them 1000%.

It is a crucial Marxist strategy to control the language which controls the masses perceptions.

This is why Communist nations (Brave New World) control information. It allows only certain concepts and creates the allowed Worldview (especially for the children).

It is why Freedom of Speech and to debate ideas is crucial to free societies. Political Correctness comes straight from Mao and shuts down all debate so that only certain ideas are allowed in the public square. It will determine the proper worldview of the future generation. It is why God is removed from the public square and we have no freedom of religion. Marxists need to kill God so they can make the State god.

Only when you completely control the language can you make people believe Evil is Good like they did with pairing up the oxymoron, homosexual “marriage” years ago-—to make it seem logical and feasible when the “idea” is silly and impossible.

Marxists have controlled the allowed dialogue since 1970 and is pushing “up is down” to destroy logic and reason—the necessary element of Rule of Law and Just Law. Now we have Unjust Laws being forced on us and people don’t realize how unconstitutional it is (read tagline).

The Chik-Fil-A near my house is always busy, there’s always a wait either in drive-thru or at the counter. Other fast food joints nearby are not nearly as busy. Chik-Fil-A employees greet you when you come in or drive up, they are very polite and respond politely when you thank them. They are mostly American kids and all clean-cut looking. The other places nearby employee a lot of folks that don’t speak good English and that are not required to be polite to customers. The contrast is striking and is a main reason why people go there.

That the Cathys are Bible believing Christians is no secret so their stance on social issues should not surprise anyone (except for those who expect Christians to put politics ahead of God). I thank God for them and pray His highest blessings upon them.

“Chick-fil-A President Says Company Opposes Gay Marriage”

That a multi-state company like Chick-fil-A is willing to take a stand for morality in 2012 warms my heart. There are so few of them that won’t back down when the pink mafia and leftist media come after them.

Eat mor chikin.

A restaurant where one doesn't have fudgepackers and carpet munchers flaunting themselves. I bet they will lose all of that 1% of business. The other >50% of the customer base is elated.
