Obama Campaign: Romney A Liar, Potential Criminal (Chicago Thugs At Work)

Obama deputy campaign manager Stephanie Cutter suggested that Mitt Romney may be a criminal on a conference call with reporters this morning about a Boston Globe report that shows that Romney stayed at Bain Capital three years past when he said he'd left.

Cutter said that there were two ways to interpret the story. The first: Mitt Romney was "misrepresenting his position" at Bain to the Securities and Exchange Commission, "which is a felony."

Or, he was "misrepresenting his position at Bain to the American people. If that’s the case, if he was lying to the American people, that’s a real character and trust issue," Cutter said.

Cutter called on the Romney campaign to clear up by the issue by releasing the candidate's tax returns.

"If the SEC filings aren’t accurate, then prove it," she said.

Thanks for your credible post that explains the 'crime' the desperate Obama campaign is attempting to pin on Mitt Romney is simply a legal technically that the Obama henchmen hope they can use to smear Romney and characterize him as untrustworthy and, in effect, a criminal. However, Romney has to answer this smear and then portray it for the BS it is before the MSM get their claws into him over the allegations.

This really opens up the door for the Romney campaign (not the candidate but his supporters) to go on TV and after refuting the claim that Romney lied about his time at Bain Capital, make the point that Obama flatly refuses to release his college records or anything else other than that phony birth certificate. The more they do this the less chance that Obama's people will try to sift through Romney's records to dig up something they think they can pretend is 'criminal' or, at the least, makes Romney appear unethical and/or dishonest. We have enough people on FR doing that now.
