Meaningless.
It will die in the Senate.
Why do we have senators? Why aren’t the voters allowed to know where their senators stand on an issue? Why is everything “dead on arrival”. Doesn’t Harry Reid have an OBLIGATION to American voters? Who died and made him God? I am so sick of this I could scream.

Even so, this is not enough for an override of the inevitable veto.

It's also why Dingy Harry Reid won't even permit a vote in the Senate now. This is an important set up just for the Senate.
There are some (D) Senators who are up for re-election, looking out for themselves, who if given a chance to vote on a repeal would do so in a heartbeat.
There's even some like Manchin looking for longevity, or even retiring Ben Nelson, looking for a chance for penance, perhaps, who might be inclined to vote to repeal it. Even retiring Jim Webb might, just because.
You only need 4 to join all the (R)'s as a tax bill repeal.
Pressure by enough (D)'s to bring it up for a vote might just force Harry's hand on the matter.
With a majority in Congress voting to repeal, then it's Obama's hot potato alone.
All the bill requires once Romney is elected is his signature - not sure about this but it might not even have to come up for a second vote, since it was already passed.
Or, how about just "deeming" it passed like last time?

I’m hoping people realize now why it is important to have Obamanation out and a Republican Senate in.

Everyone on this thread whining about this being meaningless theatre, I think you might have computer issues, do yourself a favor: Reach behind your computer, you’ll se a bunch of wires there. Yank on them hard until either the screen goes blank or you smell burning metal and/or see smoke. The problem will now be resolved.

Yes....BUT.......it forces some vulnerable Democrats up fo election this year to vote to oppose repeal. Then the Pubbies can hag that around their neck come November.

Dan Boren is a good guy. My guess is he is laying the groundwork for a run for Oklahoma governor, or a US Senate run.

I think it might be more effective, though, to vote to repeal in sections, e.g., have a vote to repeal the 16,000 IRS agents one week, a vote to repeal the tax on house sales the next week, etc., etc. Those are the atrocities in it that come immediately to mind, but I'm sure there's lots more. I disagree. Voting against it piece-by-piece would give the Dems in the Senate the opportunity to start forcing piece-by-piece votes regarding repealing some of the more "popular" provisions of the bill. I think it's politically smarter to do what they've been doing - just keep voting to repeal the whol d*mn thing.

BRAVE DEMOCRATS...
I hope they have 24/7 Armed protection for their families. The whackos of the left are going to go nuts on them.”
Not really. Matheson, Kissel and McIntyre are facing tough reelections in very conservative districts, and Boren and Ross are the Democrats’ sole chance of winning their state’s governorship in a couple of years, so the RATs will give them a pass (it’s not like they were the deciding vote or anything).
BTW, McIntyre and Boren are actually pretty conservative; the other three are posers.

Can this bill be carried over to the next Congress, or does it have to start new?
To: raccoonnookkeeper
It will start new in 2013. This is the second year of the GOP House majority.
To: LuvFreeRepublic
Anyone have a link to the list of who voted yes/no? All Republicans voted "yes" to repeal, plus 5 Democrats. They are listed in the article.
