DNA Said to Link (Obama Supported) Occupy Wall St. Protest and 2004 Killing

DNA recovered from a chain at the site of an Occupy Wall Street protest in March has been matched with DNA linked to the unsolved killing of a Juilliard student in 2004, law enforcement officials familiar with the case said on Tuesday.

The student, Sarah Fox, 21, disappeared while on a jog in Inwood Hill Park in May 2004, and her naked body was found in the park almost a week later surrounded by yellow tulip petals. The DNA on the chain from the New York protest, the officials said, was matched with DNA found on her portable compact disc player, which was found in the park several days after her body was discovered.

Investigators were seeking to determine the significance of the DNA match. One law enforcement official said it was unclear who might have touched both the CD player and the chain and why, noting that it was possible that the person who did so might not have been the killer.

Something about this seems strange. Random DNA testing isn’t that cheap, is it? They pick up the chain and test it for the hey diddle diddle?

Then the compact disc wasn’t found until several days after the girl was found?

This just seems odd. What am I missing or what is missing from the story?

I can’t seem to get into the linked site. If you are able to get there, my question would be ... from whence did they get the DNA? What caused them to even get DNA? And why?

Oh the Occupy nuts are going to love hearing that the cops have been running DNA tests on their stuff. That should really boost turnout for their next event.

Definite fishy smell. What else did they DNA test? And why?

'The chain was used in March to prop open an emergency exit door at a subway station as part of an Occupy Wall Street action to allow passengers to ride free. '

The chain was used in a crime. You can see the perps using it here.

I suspect NYC is creating a master database for 'every' crime committed in the city, no matter the degree of charge. Databases of databases is the future.

So your DNA can show up in a NYPD database even though you haven’t been convicted of, arrested for, or even suspected of a crime because someone who committed an alleged crime touched something you did?

DNA can show up anywhere. I only ‘suspect’ that they are creating a database for everything. With innovation and technology, the prices for DNA testing will continue to job and be used.

That said, having DNA on the chain, doesn’t mean the ‘killer’ touched the chain, just that DNA that ‘matched’ was on the chain.

Read the fine article.

The chain was used in March to prop open an emergency exit door at a subway station as part of an Occupy Wall Street action to allow passengers to ride free.

The police later released surveillance video of people in dark hoods and masks wrapping a long silver chain around the emergency exit door.

Officials said they had fed the DNA from the chain into a database, hoping to find the perpetrators. A computer indicated that some DNA matched that on Ms. Fox’s CD player.

I read the fine article and ask again- What else did they DNA test and why? This fine article mentions the video with the chain. I’m sure there might be at least ONE more video of one more POSSIBLE crime committed during this Occupy BS. Maybe? Is the video(s) grounds to DNA test? What do they do with the “innocent” DNA samples?

Yes, but this happened on two different occasions and to multiple stations.

“The source said his group’s inspiration for yesterdays action came on November 17 of last year. During that day of action for Occupy Wall Street, someone — quite possibly members of Occupy’s Direct Action Working Group — locked open doors at four stations.

“We wanted to do something like that, but scale it up,” the source said.”

I can’t help it, I find it a puzzling story.

They did scale it up, they tried for 25 stations and ended up with 20 stations with free fare March 28th, with help from unions.

The video they show of the one chaining the gate—that girl has on gloves.

Which occasion are they linking the DNA to? Nov 2011 or march 28th 2012?

“Prosecutors initially said the top suspect in the case was Dimitry Sheinman, 47, a handyman who went to detectives claiming to have information about the case he obtained clairvoyantly.

He was never charged and eventually moved to South Africa.

Last month, he returned to New York, and, accompanied by his wife, Jane, walked into the 34th Precinct stationhouse in Manhattan carrying a sealed envelope.

He said it contained the name of the murderer.

He told cops the name came to him in a psychic vision”

I agree with you. This story raises a lot more questions than it answers.

I saw this story. That was a pretty shocking murder, even for bad old NYC.

I can’t believe they really swab everything, it really is like CSI.

I won’t speculate further, only to say it looks like the original suspect may be in the clear, although he still sounds crazyasaloon.

If one of your relatives has had their DNA tested for genetic disease, or for geological research, and you leave some DNA somewhere it shouldn’t be, they’ll get you.
