I want to think the obama campaign strategery of accusing Romney of hiding his past will come back to b.i.t.e. someone like obama.

IF Romney’s people ACT on it. Time to get out those mormon long knives they used on Mitt’s primary opponents.

Perhaps this will slowly morph into the Birther issue and if it does and the media come approach Romney with a Birth Certificate question this should be his reply:

"Sometimes rumors can be hurtful. My promise to the American people is this. When I move into the White House the new attorney general will initiate a thorough and complete investigation in order to clarify to the American people that Barack Obama was indeed eligible and was the legitimate President of these United States. That's the fair thing to do not only for the American people but fair for President Obama and for his own legacy.

However, if by some chance the accusations turn out to be correct, there is a promise that anybody in Congress whether they be republican or democrat will be legally held accountable and justice will be served for any wrong doing and illegal activity. Let that be a warning to the leaders of Congress who have taken the oath to uphold the Constitution of the United States of America."

I hope Romney lets the pressure build as long as possible, and then releases his tax returns AND all his school records. That way, he can say, “Here you go, here's everything you could possibly want”, without even mentioning Obama’s unreleased school records.

I agree this strategy will backfire on Obama, but I believe ROmney et al are wise to keep their powder dry for now. Having Romney release his tax returns AND all his school records should happen the week after Labor Day, otherwise there's too much time for a storm about Obama’s missing documents to blow over.

You make a good point! Sort of like some suspect Obama was trying to do by not releasing his BC. Let the BC issue be the only issue the republicans run on until the weekend before the election then release a legitimate and legal birth certificate only to leave the republicans without any other issue.

I DO feel, however, that Romney supporters and surrogates such as Donald Trump and Sheriff Joe (though I'm not sure whether or not he's a Romney supporter) should continue to harp on Obama's missing birth certificate.

I'm still on the fence as to whether Romney himself should run with the BC issue (for the stated reason above)and I tend to lean towards not running with it.
