A Los Angeles politician who saw Justin Bieber allegedly reaching speeds of up to 100 miles per hour on a busy city freeway last week said he believes the pop heartthrob should be arrested.
"As I watched, I was anticipating a crash," Los Angeles City Councilman Dennis Zine told ABC News of the Friday incident. "It was chaos. Total willful disregard for people on the roadway."
On his morning commute to City Hall, Zine, who spent 33 years as a police officer, said he saw Bieber's sports car drive up behind him and zoom around him, weaving wildly in and out of traffic while five or six other cars gave chase.
Zine estimated the chase exceeded 100 mph as paparazzi engaged in wild maneuvers to keep up with Bieber, including driving on the shoulder and cutting off other vehicles.
Zine called 911.

An over-praised, narcissistic teenager with far more money than brains. If he keeps on driving that way, he’ll be dead within a year and, tragically, probably take some innocent people with him. Sadly, there is little anyone can do. Bieber is a teenage multimillionaire and a money machine for those around him. No one will even say a negative word to him much less attempt to slow him down. Let’s just hope he grows up soon - but don’t count on it. After all, he’s a ‘star’.
I hope they charge him for his music first.

It’s someone else finding him there that will REALLY hurt.
Once in a while a blind squirrel will find that acorn. This politician is correct, Bieber-brain should have been arrested for driving like that. I would have been, for sure, with at least three felony charges.
Mr politician, are you sure you didn’t see Rachel Maddow? They look almost identical until they stand up. Maddow’s balls have already dropped...
Why not the paparazzi too?
Let his bodyguards kill a few of the pursuing papparazzi scum; end of problem.
The Justin Bieber of the ‘70s, Leif Garrett, nearly killed a friend riding with him in a car, driving too fast while intoxicated or something. The friend ended up paralyzed for life while Garrett’s career went into the tank and he wound up a hardcore drug addict.
I am stuned
I have nothing but contempt for paparazzi, but Bieber should really consider driving something other than a CHROME Fisker if he want to avoid that sort of attention.

So Zine is sucking up a 33yr police pension AND a councilman salary?
Since this is LA...you all know darn well if Bieber was black, Illegal Alien, or any member of the “protected” class....this councilperson would not have said squat. He only made the comment because Bieber was white
This does not excuse Bieber for driving so fast. It is rare for an LA pol to criticize any celeb...and they would never criticize a black/minority celeb
