“freethinkers”

####

These smug “intellectuals” love the self-complimentary terminology.

What happened to “Brights”.

That deployment of propagandizing nomenclature didn’t work nearly as well as “gay”, did it?

ensure that the voices of atheists, agnostics and “freethinkers” are heard in statehouses across the country

That's part of what got us in this mess in the first place.

Good timing.

Now get into those inner city houses of worship and stop all that pre-election preaching from the pulpit. You can start in Philly, New Orleans & St Louis.

Hurry, before the precious line seperating religion and the State becomes blurred!

“One example: a bill passed in Virginia this year allowing faith-based adoption agencies to enact a “conscience clause” that allows them to turn away potential applicants based on their sexual orientation if it runs counters to their religious beliefs.”

Oh, the huge manatee! Heaven forbid we be permitted to follow the dictates of conscience...

An anti-Christian group disguising itself as a pro-secular group. They don’t seem to be pro anything.

Gee,I wonder who this outfit is going to endorse for the WH?

Choomie can add their nod to his endorsement from the Communist Party USA.

The Secular Coalition seems to have missed the fact that everything they’re doing, their entire agenda, is based on their own moral premise—but the only way to have a moral code with any meaning is to first believe in a transcendent being who is the author of such a code.

And they seem not to realize that there is no coherent explanation for the existence of concrete, physical reality unless you look higher than nature itself.

From the article:
"The group also has concerns about what it sees as pro-religious biases in President Obama’s health care overhaul."

Well, it's obvious these "freethinkers" know all the Orwellian lingo and have been revising and rewriting the history texts and training teachers. Otherwise they would choke on saying BarryCare had a pro-religious bias.

I guess folks who practiced by preaching and teaching "ethics" that approve of breaking your marriage vows, mothers murdering their children, approving of theft if a lawyer helps the thief, and explaining away perjury as being, "just about sex" they don't think twice about telling lies to further their anal focused agenda .

Prohibition as it pertains to religion is at the federal level. Unless the states also specifically ban endorsing a religion, then I don’t see what the problem is.

But if they’re targeting Islam, then I may support what they’re doing...

The temptation to burn atheists at the stake for heresy is getting more and more tempting.

It would vindicate their victim status and solve the annual Christmas law suit annoyance.

I can't condone the Spanish Inquisition, but I understand it :-)

This garbage is coming up partly because a Mormon is running against an adherent of BLT and partly because of a “evangelical” strain of atheism that will tolerate no disagreement and certainly no traditional Christianity. Typical that they won’t go after Islam. Islam will strike back violently and rule by fear.

The new religion of the anti-god. Those who don’t believe are going to turn the rest of us into clones of themselves.

No thanks. I love God and will believe in him until my death.
