This story implies that there are now TSA agents in the terminals, stopping people before they board the plane, checking beverages that were purchased in the secured section of the airport. THAT is totally new and I was trying to verify if it is in fact happening or if this is just a conjecture piece. I travel frequently and have never seen a TSA agent past the security screening point.
I would love to see TSA totally disbanded. It is a worthless government funded boondoggle that has done nothing to improve airline safety....however, that doesn't change the fact that this is a poorly written story that doesn't really convey any hard data or actual incidences of TSA agents roaming terminals, looking for drinks to test!
I seriously doubt this will happen.
” I travel frequently and have never seen a TSA agent past the security screening point.”
I was sitting waiting at my gate about 5 months ago while another flight was boarding, and the airline employee got on the mike and told everyone to take out their ID because they were having a random check by TSA.
After that plane left & mine was going to start boarding, we were told the same thing.
Only time I’ve ever encountered that.
TSA does show up at the gates on occasion. Had it happen a couple times in Charlotte and Dallas. They ask you for your I’d and boarding pass at top of jet bridge. I saw a couple folks pulled out of the boarding line and patted/wanded. TSA Agent said they are allowed to conduct random inspections.
