Nicolas Sarkozy's home raided by French police
The Guardian UK ^ | July 3 2012 | Angelique Chrisafis in Paris

Posted on 07/03/2012 12:02:06 PM PDT by Cincinna

French police have raided the home and offices of the former president Nicolas Sarkozy as part of an investigation into allegations of illegal campaign-financing by France's wealthiest woman.

Police searched the mansion rented by Carla Bruni in a chic gated community in the west of Paris early on Tuesday morning. She and Sarkozy have lived there since their marriage, in 2008. Detectives also searched the office of the legal firm where Sarkozy is a partner and the office he moved into after losing the presidential election to the Socialist François Hollande in May.

The couple were not present as they had left for a holiday in Quebec on Monday, Sarkozy's lawyer said.

As president, Sarkozy was protected by judicial immunity but this expired on 16 June. A judge in Bordeaux is investigating whether brown envelopes of illegal cash were given to Sarkozy's rightwing UMP party by France's wealthiest woman, the frail and ageing L'Oreal heir, Liliane Bettencourt, during the election campaign in 2007. The investigating magistrate is trying to establish whether Sarkozy's campaign may have received €800,000 (£640,000) in illegal funding, and whether transfers from Swiss accounts may have been handed over to Sarkozy's campaign treasurer or even to Sarkozy himself.

In February, Eric Woerth, the former budget minister and treasurer of Sarkozy's ruling UMP party, was placed under judicial investigation over cash he was alleged to have received from Bettencourt to fund the 2007 campaign.

Sarkozy has denied any links to the scandal. Magistrates working on the cases have so far kept silent over whether they would call Sarkozy to testify.

This is the socialists persecuting Sarkozy for being a conservative. I’m surprised that Obama hasn’t done the same thing by putting Bush up for a good old fashioned Soviet show trial.

Wow...that didn’t take long.A Communist is elected and two weeks later he orders that his failed opponent’s house be raided.I think that’s called French efficiency.

The socialist they elected is a real man-child in the image of Obama.

No doubt that the socialists want to use some old school intimidation tactics to strengthen their power base. Not to mention that he wants to get the news off of his spoiled brat girlfriend’s classless outbursts.

What is it with Liberals being so insecure...

Sarkozy is as conservative as Bill Clinton.

Guess they don’t need a warrant - no 4th Amendment protection in France.

Scroll down for the take on America by leftists.

This crap from Arun Kapil who is American born, living in France, teaches at a Catholic University. and who VOTES IN FOREIGN ELECTIONS!

He is constantly trashing America for “stop and frisk” and proclaiming that the US Constition is a “flawed document written by white slave owners” rambling against guns and RKBA,  and begging people to vote for Barry, trying to scare us with the VRWC boogyman.

He uses his blog to trash everything American, from the work ethic to football.

 He fancies himself an
expert on the US Constitution and is hell-bent on reelecting Barry.

French blogs like this
http://arunwithaview.wordpress.com/2012/06/30/the-new-textualism/
And this, an attack on the Roberts Court.
THE ROBERTS COURT v AMERICA
http://arunwithaview.wordpress.com/2012/07/03/the-roberts-court-v-america/

This is sadly typical, not only of the Socialist and communist view in France but the view of a growing number of Americans living in France trashing their own country.

France just isn’t what it was. In a recent poll, 92% of French want to see Barry reelected.

All my family and friends, and those of other FReepers, and our fellow FReepers in France must be the other sane 8%.

Evidently the French PM does not share George Bush’s philosophy in regards to dealing with his predecessor.

BREAKING NEWS

French gay couples get right to ‘marry, adopt children’

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-18690348

It seems like the French Socialists are consolidating their power and proceeded with Soviet style trials against the opposition, as the police raid Sarko’s home and law offices in the middle of the night.

By executive fiat, in their first month in office, they are instituting gay marriage and gay adoption , something the French are overwhelmingly opposed to.

I urge you all to take note of what has happened in France. Think long and hard about what the consequences are of giving a President control for 4-5 years without having to worry about reelection.

A Socialist has been elected President for a single 5 year term. In one month, Hollande has unleashed the police power of the State on Sarkozy, his defeated rival. His PM presented a discours trashing Sarko today, and putting into effect the Socialist program, gay marriage, gay adoption, free health care for undocumented foreigners, the right of foreigners to vote in the local elections.

France is the 5th largest world economy, with a strong military and nuclear weapons. France was a rich, prosperous country that lost it's way, becoming dependent on the nanny state from cradle to grave, giving up their Judeo-Christian values and traditions to bow at the altar of secular progressivism. Believe in "social and economic" justice, not to mention all the green crap brainwashing they have succumbed to, France is now on the fast track to destruction, from without and within.

Please pay attention to France. It can happen here if Obama is not defeated in November.

Remember what happened in the 1930s interwar years in France. There was so much internecine fighting that when France was invaded, defeatism prevailed. The socialists have own the seeds of retribution and they will eventually reap the harvest. However, unfortunately, it will be the Muslims that will be the ultimate beneficiaries.

This isn’t new. France has been fighting this culture war since 1789. Unfortunately, France’s right wing has been lead by some quixotic people for far too long.
