Could the judge have been considering constitutional rights?

get punks with guns off the streets and crime goes down...
crime goes down and you lose the reason for your political agenda.
can’t have that, now can we?
so put the punk back out on the street and let him shoot a couple of people.

I don’t see what the problem is. I wouldn’t walk through that neighborhood without a gun and neither would the cops, the judges or the mayor. The punk is probably someone that the world would be better off without but even scum should have the right to defend himself.

Even punks should be protected by the 4th Amendment to the US Constitution.

Well, no 14 year old has the right to a C&C anywhere AFAIK.
I think you have to be an adult. :)

He was stopped in a high-crime area in the wake of two recent gang shootings.
So they don't have to suspect you of a crime in order to stop and frisk?

"They saw the kid put something in his pocket. It looked suspicious."
I don't know that this, by itself, constitutes sufficient facts to create a suspicion that criminal activity may be afoot. (which is the standard for a stop and frisk)

Well, how did these judges get to be judges? Whether directly elected to Office or appointed by elected officials, the people voted for these judges.
They have only themselves to blame. Don’t like the judges you get, then vote new people and parties into office. Otherwise, just shut your yaps...
