I had a bread machine.

It was purchased at the end of last century and I had it packed away. Husband loves bread out of the bread machine so I decided to pull it out and start using again.

Only it walks over the kitchen counter as it mechanically kneads. Besides, the resulting loaf came out....TADA....a bucket of crumbs. I have made bread before, plenty of times. Never got a bucket of crumbs.

So it’s my birthday and husband gets me new bread machine. Old one thrown in trash because of its habit of walking, besides, the bucket of crumbs I blamed on the old machine.

New machine up and ready. This machine makes bigger loaves, something like 2 pounds, 1/2 lb bigger than older one. The machine’s own recipe book has recipe for basic white bread-2 pounds, so I make.

Due to crumb bucket of last try, I am very, very careful. FOUR cups of bread flour it calls for....I put the stuff in as it calls, liquids first, then dry, level the dry, add salt, bit of sugar....then make a well, add the yeast. Check yeast date-good until October 2013.

Turn it on, boom, machine starts and this one does NOT walk all over the kitchen counter.

I get busy doing other stuff, find husband in kitchen checking out machine. “I heard something banging around and wanted to make sure it wasn’t the new bread machine.”

I too hear the slam of kitchen cupboard doors and I’m livid. Darn, the NEW bread machine not only walks all over the counter, it’s slamming kitchen cupboard doors!

I run around to check further and see a black and white paw reaching out from behind a close kitchen cupboard door. The owner of the black and white paw could not open the cupboard door because my kitchen stool was blocking it but he kept pushing it, slamming it, in an effort to get out.

Gerald was not at all upset about being caught behind closed door because in Gerald’s world, the world of feline sous chefs who help humans with the cooking, sometimes you stuck in cupboards. He’d sit and ponder the situation then reach the paw out again. In Gerald’s world, somebody comes and lets you out sooner or later.

At any rate the bread machine was not slamming the kitchen doors and I was pleased.

Except when it was done and I opened my creation to find....a bucket of crumbs!

Now I used flour from a tupperware type of container with “bread machine flour” written with magic marker on the side.

I don’t know, this could have been a mistake. Maybe it wasn’t bread machine flour. It might have been regular flour and I dunno, maybe that’s part of the problem.

I did some investigating and as I searched the Internet, I find NO bread machine recipe that has FOUR cups of flour to ONE cup of liquid, that if the bread turns out dry and crumbly...it’s probably not enough liquid.

But this is the recipe that came from the bread machine manual!

Anyway, I shall buy some fresh bread machine flour this upcoming week and I will try again.

Gerald will be, as always, my sous chef.

Wish me luck.

if that is so, why is the penalty/tax only $95 for the rich 1% who can afford it?

There’s that 99%/1% insured/uninsured lie again.

Hell, as far as I know, about 15% of the people are on MediCaid...medical welfare.

Lew tells Wallace he wants to move on and talk about the economy and jobs. I seriously doubt that.

Now Wallace asking Lew about Holder, and F&F

Lew lying his @$$ off about Holder not knowing about it and stopped it immediately.

Lew says what everyone knew would happen and simply says the Roberts was wrong and the penalty is not a tax. Roberts twisted himself into a pretzel to take our freedom away and give it to his precious DC.

What I heard Jack Lou say on ABC was that the 1% were screwing up the whole system by taking advanatage of the health care system, not paying for it, and really, they could afford it!

So this monstrosity of a bill just closed that loophole and reigned in that 1% to pay their fair share, and now the whole system will work! (WOW)

Paul Ryan - 1 man (Roberts) decided to go against what Rayn through were his primciples, the stakes of this election couldn’t be higher.

How can he lie like this?

Because he's a RAT whose lips are moving.

All RATs always lie about everything.

Let the reactions of these wise “pundits”, like George Will as you mention, and Krauthammer, be a lesson to us all.

They are the political chattering class and they are part of the problem.

I read how Roberts was “protecting” the image of the Supreme Court with his silly, and probably illegal, action. I read that Roberts threw himself on his sword-can you imagine anybody stupid enough to express such a thing?- to save the country.

The political chattering class, yes even the so-called conservative ones, did not see the emperor has no clothes. Only we, the common people, with the common sense the political elite and their chattering class do not have, see the absurdity of what happened last week.

Our legislators passed an outrageous piece of legislation that nobody wants, that was passed through bribes and incentives to certain states and not others, that the public tried desperately to stop by electing a Republican to replace Ted Kennedy then in 2010 rang some clocks with the country’s collective outrage.

So we wait for the Supreme Court to do their little tiny job, a great job when you think about it, a lifetime job protection for just reading a document and interpreting....AND THEY DO NOTHING!

Well Roberts changes the law from a mandate to a tax, thereby effectively re-writing the law which the SC is NOT supposed to do, and we’re all out here in la-la land, bitter and feeling more than a little tyrannized.

Our gubmint is run amok folks, that’s all.

Time for us, the common people, to do what we got to do.

First, let’s eject those always wrong conservative pundits, Will, Krauthammer....time for them to go.

Then we’ll talk.

I have no idea what Lou (Lew?) is taling about. It's just the class welfare argument again.

Ryan on ABC - We have one more chance to get theis country back - comes on November 6.

Before you hit the beach here's a take on what may have happened recently in the supreme court.

Of course the big question is why did Chief Supreme Court Justice John Roberts rewrite Obamcare giving the dead sea scroll new life by morphing it into just another tax.

You have to jump into this guys mind to really know what happened and since few of us are up to that we are relegated to just educated guesses.

Here's mine.

Currently, we have a regime that is fully engaged in the Chicago Way. What is the Chicago way? It's a system of intimidation through long term political corruption by political animals willing to do most anything to get what they want. This intimidation includes murder of ones family or basically whatever it takes.

(by the way Valerie Jarrett the defacto potus now was Daley's go to gal before she came to dc)

If you happened to see the State of the Union speech where the Manchurian in charge gave the evil eye to the Court more than once you can get it that there may be just a little apprehension on the part of the five "supposed"conservative members who don't cave to socialism/communism aka the Chicago way. Are they now targets with the biggest target Roberts?

In addition as a supposed conservative member of the court being appointed instead of Harriet Roberts (which is a challenging mindset all of its own to be considered), you have to think that perhaps Roberts feels just a little allegiance to the right as well.

So he may view himself be in a position where he thinks he may have to appeal to both sides and basically have a hell of a good argument for whomever wins in November. His survival may be at stake in one case and just for appearances in the other.

Playing both sides could well have been the motive for Roberts rewriting obamacare(if he did the dirty work himself rumors are he is no rocket scientist either) and declaring it nothing but a big tax that congress has the right to do.

If it was it may well accomplish the following: If O'Kardashian is reelected Roberts simply tells Barry "hey I was on your side but had to make it look good for my(supposed) Budd's on the right" and will probably get a pass from the Chicago mob. After all they got what they wanted 1/6 of the economy of the US under their control.

If Romney wins in November all Roberts has to say is, "hey Mitt I made it a tax so you can get rid of it in the Senate with only 51%! I'm really a big conservative guy see Mitt." Romney at that point basically has no choice but to say "thanks" having claimed he would gut Obamcare on his first day anyway.Robers can make the case its now any easy task.Of course this presupposes we take the Senate which may not be a slam dunk unless Sarah and Marco can fire up the base as good as she did on her own in 2010,then we take it all.

Either way Robert's slimy ass is covered and he has plausible deny ability regardless of who wins in November which w the entire goal.

I know Krauthammer says its because Roberts is so noble he didn't want the Supreme Court to overreach its bounds by usurping power over Congress but sorry Chuck I ain't buyin' that one.

Excellent take, as usual, bray.

It is more than a little amusing so many of the Liberal rich adore the money but hate the rich yet on the other hand despise the "little" people as well.

I think a lot of the problem is that both greed and envy are vying for their souls and both are winning. Hate and pride seem to be the end result instead of a grateful heart for their God-given talents and the fantastic opportunity to use them. For them, it's all about themselves despite their protestations to the contrary. Sad.

McConnell say replace means modest reforms...no meat axe rather work with a scapel.

Interstate sales of health insurance
Tort reform
Go step by step

McConnell not concerned about the 1%

Not going to a European-style Socialized Medical System, the private insurance/nonprofit American healthcare system is the finest in the world.

Wallace asks about pre-existing contidions...McConnell replies High Risk Pools....good answer. Over half the states have them.

Old McConnell just said, “If I am the leader of the Senate.”
That is a scary thought. If we do win we will have to change the old boys club that brings the worst possible spokesmen we can find. He can barely order a Big Mac let alone explain Conservatism.

Time for us, the common people, to do what we got to do.

We need to get out and canvass for Tea Party candidates who will overturn the law/tax and furthermore we need to sign the petition to pass the Anti-Mandate Amendment in order to make it all the harder for Congress and the Supremes to simply ignore the Constitution.

A new amendment prohibiting the taxing of non-commerce might buy Americans a couple more generations of freedom before another future Roberts type decides to fart that up is down and black is white.

ABC - George Will still holding on to his claim that this is a win. George WIll is officially a moron. (Aaahhhh, Terry Moron agrees with him. George Will is right, Glen Beck is wrong. Hear that George? That should give you pause if Terry Moron agrees with you.)

Keith Olberman -

Artur Davis, former D, turned R, AL - this is not a popular law. The people that don’t like this law , don’t like it because they think it costs too much, it’s unpredictable, etc.

Donna Brazile - this law didn’t go far enough. It didn’t include a single payer option. (Don’t worry, Donna, it’s coming!)
