President Obama is leading Mitt Romney thanks to a bump from last Thursday's high court healthcare ruling, according to a survey released Saturday from conservative polling outlet Rasmussen.
Rasmussen's latest daily presidential tracking poll finds Obama with 46 percent support from likely voters to Romney's 44.

If more people are against Obamacare, how does this make sense??????
Imprimatur of legitimacy.
So Much for those who said Roberts did us a favor.
Makes him look presidential versus the true boob that he is.
A dead cat bouncing.
I smell a rat somewhere in the polling. Just doesn’t add up that more people like him than the guy they were just yesterday trusting more with healthcare (Romney) and that this is due to the ruling? Makes no sense. Think I’ll table giving any poll credence for now.
Not so sure it will be close, but I agree that our side doesn’t need to get overconfident and stay home. That WOULD be disastrous, but frankly at this point I think the fact that Zero just signed us up for the “biggest tax increase in this country” is going to be an Albatross around the neck of every Dem. in this country who voted it in. May it be so.
Not buying it. Most polls show healthcare down the list in voter’s concerns.
Look for a deluge of similar polls over the next couple of weeks. Obama will be up by 5 - 10 points in all of them.
Americans have apparently decided we now love socialism.
We are going to have to live with the consequences.
I figured the conventional wisdom that Obama would be hurt if the S.Ct. upheld the law was wrong. It makes sense because upholding the law is no more likely to make us vote against Obama, but it will motivate Obama’s people to go to the polls to uphold the law.
ik havn’t scene this guy poll above 46% in months. After a long hot summer of bad rconomic news and all the talk about all the taxes in January, he is at his apex.
It will not be close. Romney by 55/45 if they can find someone else to run as a republican 60/40.
Romney outside the margin of fraud!
The theory has always been that Obama loses when the topic is jobs and the economy.
On any other topic Obama “wins” because we are distracted from jobs and the economy.
Romney is the worst candidate possible to run on the healthcare issue, as many have already noted.
Romney/our side needs to tie healthcare to jobs and the econmy in a sound-byte way that also includes stories of individual people.
Compare it to “regulation”. Ask people if they are for or against it and they are for it. But ask people if thousands of high paying pipeline jobs should be killed by regulation and they are against regulation.
Right now, tying any issue to jobs is the way to win.
Articulate philosphical and moral and economic theory is a great way to win a debate..but not to win votes.
I never thought that Clinton would be reelected.
But I believe that many conservatives will stay home rather than vote Romney into office just as Democrats are planning will happen in November.
It’s a temporary bump, like the one he got after bin-Laden’s death. It’s also the weekend, and from what I’ve been noticing from these polls, the Democrats seem to do better on weekends.
It’s the economy that’s going to sink him. Does anyone here really believe it’s going to miraculously turn around by November?
We’ve got to get every GOP friend and family member out to vote this November.
Other polls starting to pop up showing the same thing. *sigh*
read my lips...Nobamatax!
That bump will not last.
However, if far more people of this nation do not turn back to God...we may end up with Obama again....and they will have to learn the hard way.
This will affect everyone....but God WILL sustain His people.
Obama has been creeping up in almost every poll for about the last 10 days or so. Yes the weekends, good weather & holidays ALWAYS work against the republican when polling, but this Obama trend has been there before the Roberts ruling & the summer holidays.
Part of this issue is demographics. Obama owns the black & hispanic vote. And, believe it or not, the asian vote. These 3 groups now make up about 37% of the U.S. population. It’s a different elction map for the GOP in 2012. I still think Romney can/will win this election, but it’s not going to be easy.
Nanny Staters are now in the majority. Election slogan: “Where’s MY government check?”
Is that a picture of Ocean Grove NJ?
If Romney, wins, and I think it's a long shot, it'll be very close.
Any who doesn't vote for Romney really is a co-conspirator with Democrats and the Obama regime and absolutely responsible for what's happening and what will happen in the second term.
Yup....there is an Obama trend in most every poll of the past 10 days. And this poll we are talking about is the best one out there. This is not good news. Romney needs to be very aggressive every day.
And since the SC said it was constitutional then folks will say Obamacare is A-Ok.
The tax argument's will not fly since most American also think it is A-Ok to tax for such “good things”.
And years from now when it all fails, the public will be told the fault lies with Republicans, business, hospitals, Drs, Insurance, or big Pharma.
They will NEVER be told that big gov is too blame, and will vote in Dems who will fix it with compassion.
Same old, same old.
I am trying to find the poll of 3 days prior but can’t
locate it
The word TAX needs to be in every Republican commercial right after the words IRS. That will do a lot!
Well, gas prices have been down making it less expensive to drive to the unemployment office. Ain’t life grand. (Rolling eyes)
At this point, June 2012, 3+ years after The One got elected, there are three kind of people. (1) Those who oppose him, (2) Those who originally supported him but realized their mistake and now oppose him, and (3) evil stupid pieces of shit.
So, in all reality, the SCOTUS ruling would only possible affect the dumbest of category (2). And in all reality, that’s very very few people.
I have a hard time believing that the SCOTUS decision had any affect at all.
There have always been people who leech off the Govt but its gotten much much worse. People are getting “Obama phones” for goodness sake..these are the ones who Obama owns..they have his back because they want to continue getting “free stuff” its free to them but WE have to pay for it but hell, what do they care as long as its free to them. Welcome to Greece
Romney needs to get his face on TV live soon. We seen him for 2 minutes on Thursday....that’s not going to cut it.
Don’t think so, but time will tell. I do know that Americans hate taxes and won’t react well to being told (and it WILL be news to some, unfortunately) that this is “the biggest tax increase in our history”. Especially not in these economic times. I call bogus on these polls that show a more favorable rating for Zero because of the tax. No way. Wait and see. When people aren’t out on vacation, spending time with families, and they start paying attention they will be screaming for repeal. (I’ve just read some of the House members from bipartisan districts who are saying EVERYONE in their district hates it and wants it to go away.) I’m betting there are more like that than not. Sure, Pelosi’s district may be hyperventilating with excitement, but would anyone really expect anything different from that arena?
Agreed on that. Those who have always supported him and are die-hard Kool-Aid drinkers and true Zero worshipers will lie to pollsters if needed, to make it appear that more people love their hero. (Remember, these people have NO problem lying, cheating, whatever — if it serves their ends and their god!) Thankfully, that’s still not the majority of Americans.
its funny that when rasmussen says bad bout obama then he is a pubbie hack...but when he finds good for obama then they quote him...oh thaaaaaaat liberal bias
So you sit around looking for polling data to make you feel good?
Hey, people! Welcome to an election! There hasn’t been a single one where you got polling data that gave you what you wanted the while damn time!
Check 1980, or 1994. It ebbs and flows!
GROW A PAIR AND ROLL WITH IT.
“Any, who doesn’t vote for Romney really is a co-conspirator with Democrats and the Obama regime and absolutely responsible for what’s happening and what will happen in the second term.”
Exactly. And while they are protesting, nobody is so stupid so as not to see the obvious, as you stated it. The primaries are over, now the only choice is Obama or Romney.
Anyone who is enabling an Obama re-election, when he is on a clear path to destroy freedom and the US, is NO conservative. Period.
I spotted at least 3 gas stations selling regular for $3.33 today (upstate NY), if it keeps going down I am afraid Obama is going to get re-elected.
Probably due to the Saudis pumping full-out to help the American president who bowed to their king.
“Probably due to the Saudis pumping full-out to help the American president who bowed to their king.”
Makes you wonder what Obama promised them...
You’d be surprised at how many retired people have already dropped their private insurance with anticipation of ObamaCare. I know two who were republican all their lives. Something about getting old that turns some into selfish leftists. If I know two republicans who did that and a few others who are independent of democrats, how many of these people are there in the whole country?
orrection “independent or democrats”
Of course. The MSM cannot let Romney appear to be ahead for too long.
Lol, gas is $3.30 & my local (liberal) news station is acting like happy days are here again.
“Anyone who is enabling an Obama re-election, when he is on a clear path to destroy freedom and the US, is NO conservative. Period.”
I would like to see a few replies to this thread from any of the Freepers that stated they intend to stay home rather than vote for Romney. I know a lot of them said that they would do so.
I completely understand their reasons, and agree with many of them, which can be argued forever, but I think that many thousands of conservatives will also stay home.
I won’t be staying home, but I’ll be voting against both Obama and Romney. I’m done voting for liberals.
Most people only pay attention tangentially to issues.
A lot of people in the middle will just assume this means Obamacare is a good thing and obviously the “right” was wrong since a Bush appointee said it was constitutional.
Romney will have to talk that cat out of the tree....if he is even truly against it.
That is anther bad sign, Roberts has condemned us to suffer the self-destructive despotism of democracy, by destroying our Constitutional republic.
Whether we win the novemeber election or not, is now irrelevant, because there is nothing to congress from doing not only this but much worse again. We have lost the freedom to control our own actions and without that freedom no others may reasonably be said to exist.
Its time to make our exit from non-revolutionary politics for nothing less than a revolution will preserve to ourselves or our posterity liberty.
