The Continuing Injustice Of Obamacare Waivers
American Thinker ^ | 28 June 2012 | Clay Hegar

It may be hard to keep track of with the round-the-clock news cycle, but the continuing injustice of waivers to the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act deserves careful scrutiny by the American citizenry.

The list of granted waivers now stands at 733. A glance reveals that much of this favored class is made up of the law's biggest supporters: unions and health care providers. A more extensive analysis of the list would be a waste of time; the salient point is that it is a manifestation of privilege -- i.e., Americans are unequal under Obamacare. While some are given exemptions to the new law, some will be punished for failure to adhere to it.

If it's such a "victory" for the admin and the public, why are so many (several are Obama's pet groups) applying and receiving exemption?

Looking forward to hear what Mark Levin has to say. The unfairness of the exemptions needs to be hammered home every day until we right this wrong.

No more hand-picked winners nd losers. The time is now.

“The list of granted waivers now stands at 733. A glance reveals that much of this favored class is made up of the law’s biggest supporters: unions and health care providers.”

So... since THIS is a documented FACT, why wasn’t it part of the justices’ consideration?

No ‘law’ can be applied SO unevenly and STILL be a law, can it?

Just had a thought....if elected, can’t Romney simply grant waivers to everyone, basically nullifying the law until it can be repealed?

And how would that differ from Obozo’s waiving immigration laws for hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens?

If nobody brought up that point in arguments before the Court, then it can’t be part of the decision. The USSC is not an inquisitional body.

Except that waivers are in the code.

Now Demon-rats could go back and ask for the waivers to be struck out because that wouldn’t be right for a tax — but not only is that political suicide, but the Court might then answer by smashing the whole thing down.

Section 1411 of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act grants the HHS Secretary almost complete latitude in the determination of whether or not an individual is entitled to an exemption. A future Republican president must protect the rule of law for all Americans, and not just special classes, as is currently the case. He or she must appoint a secretary to HHS whose "laser-like focus" is to grant all Americans an exemption from this monstrous law. In this way, Americans' freedom of choice will be restored.

I would do it differently. I would announce exemptions for everybody EXCEPT those entities granted exemptions under the Obama administration.

When you look at it from the lens that 0bama gave us when asked about reparations,

this is but one of his “ongoing” social programs that accomplishes “reparations” without calling it that, and without ever saying “that’s done, let’s move on”.

Nothing compared to the government deciding who lives and who dies.
