Anyone have an idea how this can be mandated as a tax, and be constitutional with so many specific groups, such as Congress or Illegal Immigrants, Native American tribes, certain Religions.....exempted?

Judges are creatures of government. They live off of the government, they exist because of government. Judges hate self help. Judges need dependency more than any other branch.

No need to pull anything on this matter. We just got jerked off royally by SCOTUS and why not tell it like it is? Looks like the government can now tell us what to buy and when we have to buy anything. I want to know how a person that lives below the poverty line can ever afford to buy health insurance? If i have to buy it, so should they, and i want to know since i will have to pay for theirs will i get a tax deduction and be able to use them as dependents? Either way the comments on Roberts were well written and certainly made me laugh. You Sir call them like you see them.

I don’t think they “mandated a tax”,
they ruled that the mandate WAS a tax,

and therefore passed constitutional muster.

The 0bama admin was arguing that it wasn’t a tax only for the purpose of deflecting the “tax increase” label.

Romney better get his a$$ to the microphones pronto and give a statement on this. Where is he?

Ah ha ha ha ha ha ha! His roomful of elves twisting their hands trying to come up with the right milquetoast response takes hours if not days.

Agreed but that is going to take a Congress with the stomach and stones to do it.

And where will we find these people? It sure as hell ain’t the Republicans.

The last straw has just been placed on this citizen’s back.

This is no longer the country of limited government as designed and demanded by the founders.

Secession has to tried again.

We have half the country which wants to live off the other half. Half believes the moral high ground is killing the unborn. Half the country hates the military while claiming to support it. Half the country completely disagrees with the founders brilliance of limited government.

We cannot resolve these differences EVER at the voting booth. Only a divorce between the parasites and the body of producers is a viable solution.

As it stands we are living in the roach motel and the roaches are keeping us hostage

As disappointed as I am in this decision I think you're right and almost the same words I used with my wife; the awakening of the sleeping giant.

There were, of course, other factors but Obamacare was a big part of the election results of 2010.

One can hope.

I agree, it’s just unthinkable that this man could have done this. I’m taking it very personally I suppose - but I had a lot of faith that his core values would guide him, and I always thought he was a very conservative man to the core. Seems not so much - to have sided AGAINST Kennedy even - caramba that is just bizarro and I can’t make a lot of sense of it, other than to think that his ego is bigger than his “conservative values”. The whole “I’ll just be an umpire calling balls and strikes thing”... I mean give me a break, that’s the kind of thing you can say to get appointed, but all judicial decisions are affected to some degree by your underlying beliefs, your political philosophy, and your view of federal power vs. states rights.

I think Roberts looked for any way possible to uphold this thing, because he is more concerned with being seen as this “umpire” character than anything else.

Yes, not that the Black Robbed C—ksuckers have not written law in the past......But I didn’t realize they were elected representives able to create and pass laws?

“How can the court deem a mandate a tax?”

I had a feeling if they struck this POS obamacare down then then SS and Medicare would be on thin constitutional ice.

Newt was right.....ALL ASSHOLES voting for this should be IMPEACHED.

"they ruled that the mandate WAS a tax..."

Thanks for explaining it so this dummy can understand it. Obama and the Dems own it then, and if the Republicans don't push it that way this election year, then they're the dummies and not me.
