Totalitarianism that most assuredly can’t be stopped.

They only mandate car insurance IF YOU DRIVE A CAR. If not, you are not required to buy car insurance.

Further it is a states rights issue, not a federal constitutional issue. Meaning you can move to another state that does not require car insurance, IF you choose to drive a car.

They could provide an absolute minimum of medical care. Then bill them, take whatever assets the people have against their medical bills. Or allow people to sell property to cover the bills.

I would also allow private people and groups to make tax-deductible donations to hospitals of their choice to be used to help cover medical expenses of those having problems covering their bills.

Agreed on state’s right versus federal mandate. Which is why the health insurance mandate in Massachusetts is constitutional.

But please tell me how do you propose to deal with people showing up at hospitals with serious car accident injuries or a serious disease requiring surgery and expensive treatment, without insurance. Should other people be forced to pay for it in the form of higher premiums? Or should the tax payers carry the burden. Someone has to fork out the money if the person can not pay hospital bills.

They don’t go on the road to begin with, or face the risk. Risk responsibility. Insurance only passes it off, and is raked off at the top. Mandatory 6 months community service cleaning sidewalks and restrooms to start, and just a start of repayment.

Why eis it other people’s responsibility to pay other people’s bills? Why is healthcare the bill we all have to pay? The people need food and housing and transportation and there are no demands we have to all buy food insurance and housing insurance to pay for the food and housing for these people.

Further many of these people decided not to buy insurance - young and immortal, etc. Didn’t want to spend the money while they were healthy, wanted to use it on other things. If a person doesn’t maintain his car and decides to use the money for other things and the car dies, are we on the hook for him to get a new car, because of his crappy choices? If we would have advised him to maybe fix the car before it died, he’d say mind your own business, it’s his choice. Now that the choice backfires, the responsible are now supposed to take care of the irreaponsible?

Many places give discounts, sizeable discounts for patients without insurance paying put of pocket. I say work with them on a case by case basis to get their bills paid off however possible for each individual. I also said make it possible for private people and groups to donate money to help those with medical bill problems, directly to whatever hospitals they want, totally tax deductible.

Download your local Hospital’s tax returns.

A whole slew of them qualify as teaching hospitals for substantial tax breaks.

They’re passing along their share of it to everyone else already. And no this isn’t a pro-redistribution stance. IF they’re going to pretend they’re non-profit, and they qualify for that exemption based on regs requiring them to provide charity care, then they can either Provide that Charity Care or forego their exemption.

Download their returns and read them before you assume that the freeloading is only going on at the patient end.

The Tea Party becomes a real political party and takes over D.C.

I can dream, can't I?

“start messing with them and giving them the runaround with their healthcare, and you’ll see extreme-nutso on every level!”

When husbands can’t get care for their wives, when parents’ are denied treatments for their children . . .

Oh yes. Storming the Bastille will occur.

That is not a dream. Something like it will inevitably occur as the GOP keeps sagging to the left. Provided freedom of expression and freedom of association remain (those are not idle speculations, those are genuine question marks) then people will form some faction which will represent them.

Obamacare`s survival today would mean the transition to dictatorship has been judicially confirmed with the clear and loud message is government has the authority to force us into whatever arrangement the ruling class sees fit.

Remember “if you like your medical insurance, you can keep it”? Soon we`re going to hear, “if you like your current life insurance, you can keep it,” or, “if you like your current 401K or other private retirement program, you can keep it.” There will just be some added burdens to keep them... for the “common good.”

That is exactly the scenario I fear. A redux of Monday`s SB 1070 decision, i.e., a token bone thrown at the supporters of freedom while, in all reality, the Constititution burns to ashes.

I’m curious: with what may be our country’s most important Supreme Court decision due tomorrow, what do all you fellow Freepers see as our collective, national future - and your personal future - if ObamaCare is left intact?

Ultimately, it will either mean civil war (unlikely) or the already corrupt Federal government will no longer have to give even lip service to the US Constitution. We’ll ultimately get a government like the USSR only with much better technology.

When’s the next mayoral election in New York City?

I think that would be a wonderful place to introduce the Big Gulp Freedom Tea Party!

If it wins, get ready for the Hunger Games to begin very soon or a revolution to rise up.

What’s the Future If ObamaCare Survives?>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

It will be the end of the Republic and its personal freedoms, and free enterprise. We will witness the death throws of the greatest economic engine ever created in World History. We will become “subjects” of a nationalist socialist government, bent on ramming their Utopia down the throats of all Americans, using any means necessary as such fascists do.

And the jury is out on whether genuine, constitution supporting Americans will fight or not to resume the Republic and reinstate the Constitution. If they decide to fight, there will be civil war.

Going Galt.

Get off the grid as much as possible.

Prepare to get mobile, definitely prepare to be part of a nationwide resistance group defying Federal illegal laws.

The say leaders only travel in the right direction because of the people shoving from behind, so lets all start licking Romney into killing Obamcare and refunding anything already taken from Americans.

Make Romney a saviour for America, even if he screams and kicks.

If it survives, we sit back and watch it play out as the disaster and failure we all know it will be. In a year people will be screaming for a repeal and replace.

Your keyboard got it right the first time. Just as a group of geese is a gaggle, a group of aholes is a bung.
