The five-term Congressman trailed Bridenstine 46 percent to 54 percent, with 94 percent of precincts reporting at 12:30 a.m., when the Associated Press called the race. Sullivan, who was first elected to Congress in a 2002 special election, vastly outspent his challenger, the former executive director of the Tulsa Air and Space Museum.

Sullivan acknowledged he has missed votes because of his battle with alcoholism, for which he checked himself into a rehabilitation center in 2009.

Good riddance.

Didn't the left write the Tea Party's obituary last year?
Wishful thinking, no doubt.

Actually it has been GOP politicians like Newt Gingrich and Lindsey Graham who have done that for almost a year now.

I volunteered for Mr. Sullivan in his first campaign. I’m sorry to learn of his personal problems, and I hope he recovers and does well in private life in the future.

Best wishes to the new candidate.

Not surprised about Graham, but Gingrich? That’s a puzzlement...

Newt is very much a part of the establishment, sometimes he just pretends he’s not. Remember how he endorsed super RINO Dede Scozzafava and got real defensive when called out on it?

Is it? Why? Did Sullivan do something wrong besides being drunk? He’s got a good voting record.

The first famous boxer was a man named John Sullivan. He was KOed in his last fight, his only recorded loss.

Newt said as much during the time he was running in the GOP Primaries. I respected his work during the 1980s and 1990s.

He has not done anything worthy of praise since his resignation from the Speaker of the House of Representatives in 1998 except write novels.

It is not a matter of his doing something wrong. It is that the GOP Primary voters in his district wanted a change.

Let's all congratulate the winner and wish him well in the November Election.

The question I was asking is why it it as the OP stated “great news”. I find it to be downright neutral news.

Sounds like it was only a “surprise” and an “upset” to the dinosaur media. We The People are fed up regardless of what it prints.

One by one the chickens are coming home to roost on the treasonous liberal anti-Americans.

Many democrats are taking a second look at Obama and the Tea Party and are keeping their distance from the p resident.
