Palin denies withholding support for Romney
The Daily Caller ^

Posted on 06/25/2012 1:00:46 PM PDT by mnehring

In an appearance on the Fox News Channel’s “Hannity” on Tuesday, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin told Sean Hannity that the reason why she didn’t endorse presumptive GOP nominee Mitt Romney during a Las Vegas speech this weekend was because she couldn’t.

The Daily Caller had pointed out on Tuesday that former Palin did not even mention Romney in her speech. But, Palin told Hannity, that doesn’t mean that the 2008 Republican vice-presidential nominee isn’t supporting the former Massachusetts governor.

“There was a reason I did not mention Gov. Romney in my speech at the Americans for Prosperity Foundation event and RightOnline over the weekend, and that’s because I would have violated the ground rules for Americans for Prosperity Foundation. That you couldn’t violate their — I don’t know if it is a 501(c)3 — whatever the classification is of their organization.”

“No one mentioned Gov. Romney in their speeches nor endorsed anybody because that wasn’t what the conference was about. My role in the conference as a matter of fact in the conference was to point out the hypocrisy, the double standards and weakness of the old media and how the new citizen journalist media can rise up and take the place of what the old media used to represent and that is telling the truth and the facts to voters.”

Palin then went on to make it clear she was supporting Romney.

“I have said from day one and Sean, I think you said the exact same thingL It has been anybody but Obama. We have a presumptive nominee in the GOP process after a good competitive and very spirited competition to find that presumptive nominee,” Palin said. “And, yes, if that vote were to be taken today obviously I would vote for — for Gov. Romney over President Barack Obama in a heartbeat. I wouldn’t blink because I go back to what I said at the beginning — anybody but Obama.”

How is practicing RINO Republicanism by a, possible, Romney administration, for the next four years, if not, even, longer, a very good thing for long-term conservatism?

So I says to myself, “Self. Cain’t you see (I talks to myself in southernese)...cain’t you see that the only way Romney was ever going to get to be President was if someone really really really bad was elected President first and then all of Romney’s many many faults as a candidate would then seem so very small compared to this really really really bad President. So, since he did not get the nomination in 2008, he had to torpedo the 2008 Republican ticket behind the scenes, which he did wonderfully in a variety of ways without getting the blame, and also torpedo any Republican competition that might arise against him, which he also has been doing constantly.

All is working beautifully for him and now no one, not even the candidate most Americans really want to have as President, can get in his way this time.

Myself was dumbstruck by the thought.

"Vanity: Team Romney Sabotaged Palin and Continuing to Do So?"

"Romney Supporters Trashing Palin"

"Romney advisors sniping at Palin?"

Well, you may be right. And then we’ll all have to deal with what the new idiot does to the nation.

And as a person who hopes one day to be the Second Big Party nominee and to have not broken Reagan’s 11th commandment, she, as a wise politician who has been marginalized for the time being, should have said...what?

Help try to reelect Obamah if you feel like it, I refuse!!

I understand completely who and what Romney is and that is a hellava lot better that what's currently in the White House.

But, hey! Let's Start A Third Party, it's not too late! /s

Could it be your anti-Mormonism is greater then your anti-RINOism?

until then I’m not budging.

Where have you been? Don’t you know that in these parts there is NO conservative anyone has ever heard off who is acceptable. Only obscure, inexperienced Losers who have never won any office greater than dogcatcher are acceptable.

I’ve previously gone on record on FR indicating I will vote for the most conservative candidate for President I can find on the ballot but will not be voting for either R or O.

It’s a shame some on FR will not be participating & celebrating our landslide vitory.”

If you think a Republican House, Republican Senate and Republican WH is a steaming turd, you've got problems my FRiend.

THAT's what I'm voting for.

I understand we are Conservatives first, but if we Freepers can't contribute and celebrate a Republican sweep, I might be on the wrong forum!

Geez, you people annoy me!

There you go again, putting words in our mouths. I have found at least two acceptable conservative candidates. And I've not tried all that hard.

Regan the greatest president in my 55 years. would not be acceptable to many here.

Regan signed Amnesty.

He also gave us the free ER health care laws.

And as Gov he started the no fault divorce craze.

Non are perfect ‘cept for Christ.

The Jews and the true conservatives™ await his run for office.

I’m not anti-Mormon, just pro-small government conservatism! Small government conservatism is very badly needed, asap, and neither Barack Obama, nor Mitt Romney are small government conservatives!
