A Nation just too scared to quit
New York Post ^ | June 24, 2012 | John R. Lott

In case you missed it, hiring fell a staggering 9 percent last month. The hidden secret is how bad hiring has been throughout the “recovery.”

Economists say the recovery started in July 2009 — but the jobs picture still looks more like a recession.

New hires not only fell during the recession, they’ve kept on falling during the “recovery” — something that isn’t supposed to happen.

The economy has added jobs for 20 months, but very slowly. The total number of jobs has grown by just 1 percent during the 36-month “recovery.” In all past recoveries since 1970, the average job growth in the first 36 months is 7 percent.

The story gets even worse when we look more closely at that small increase in jobs.

In the year and half before the recession, new hires averaged 5.25 million per month. During the recession (December 2007 to June 2009), they fell dramatically to 4.39 million, hitting 4.2 million per month in December 2008, right before Obama became president. . . .

OBAMAVILLE

Gett’n a head fake,
watchin’ msn’s take;
All of their pundits oozing foul oil.
Clean’n my six gun on my front porch swing.
Felling my blood—
It’s beginnin’ to boil.

Wasted away again in Obamaville,
Searchin’ for a job so I can earn my salt.
Some people claim that Bush is to blame,
But I know it’s Obama’s fault.

There’s no rime or reason,
They’re all commitin’ treason
With nothing to show but a brand new tax or two.
But they are real beauties,
Despotic duties, how they got passed
I haven’t a clue.

Wasted away again in Obamaville,
Searchin’ for a job so I can earn my salt..
Some people claim that it’s Bush we should blame,
Now I think,— hell with them it’s Obama’s fault.

I blew out my flip flop,
Stepped on a pop top;
Cut my heel, but I just cruise on back home.
Because no medical care will the doctors render
They say there’s little service I can tender
And there’s no need for me to hang on.

Wasted away again in Obamaville
Searchin’ for a job so I can earn my salt.
Some people claim that Bush is to blame,
But I know, it’s my own damn fault.
Yes, and some people claim that Bush is to blame,
And I know because of my vote it’s my own damn fault

Most of those economists are no more than agents of the government.

Economists look only at relative change ~ from a prior period to current. They really don't look at 'recovery' in the sense of things getting back up to where they were before the fall.

That's why we have this nonsense coming from them that tells us there's a "recovery" when there isn't.

The economy is still running well below its peak and will languish there for quite some time yet.

There's actually no reason for things to improve faster either ~ we continue to have a vast amount of deflation brought on by continuing inroads into human work by Mechanization, Automation, Computerization, Improved Work Methods and Robotics.

Tell me when we put a stop to technological advances and I can give you a much better idea of just when we might get "recovery" in the popular sense of the word.

The entire Federal -economic system is SCARED to admit their policies not only haven’t worked......but logically CANNOT work.

It is the indictment of a generation of American Elite.....who have lost their intellectual and moral compass....and are now on the verge of losing their position in world leadership.

All bull... if you peel back all of the lies, distortions and accounting tricks that the fed uses to try and paint a picture of prosperity, all that we have left is a depression that is actually as bad as the great depression... one that is growing in depth constantly. When the full force pain comes... and it will... it will be the worst economic conditions that the world has faced in modern times.

I can't speak for everyone else, but all I know is that I am still in hunker down / pay down debt mode and will continue to be until far enough into Romney presidency to determine if he is going to govern as a leftest like Obama.

Yeah, becoming a millionaire “started” in 1944 for me, ain’t got there yet though. Matter of fact I am back where I was about forty years ago with only reverse left in the old transmission. I think I am on track with the “recovery”.
