This worked with McCain, might as well try it with Romney. Obama’s machine got after McCain every time anyone yelled anything at an Obama rally, or yelled anti-Obama words at a McCain rally. Eventually, McCain was campaigning for Obama- “You have nothing to fear from an Obama presidency”.
Might as well try it with Romney, who knows, it might work.
I think Mitt is hip to this, though. Plus he does not have Stockholm Syndrome.

What was even more disgusting about that moment, is just as soon as Webb Simpson was handed the trophy and had it lifted for all of about 5 seconds, Bob Costas sticks his ugly mug before the camera and that microphone in Webb's face. It was so disgusting to steal the winner's moment in the spotlight so Costas could get on there running his trap. Unbelievably shameful on the part of NBC.
Now, back to this thread.

This is a smart answer by Romney.
I’ll go on record here as being impressed with his reply.

Seeing that Obama is paying professional hecklers to try and keep up with Romney’s bus tour stops to heckle him, I see no reason for Romney to do so.
In fact I’d embrace their right to do so. And defend it strongly.

I love using that Hillary quote on liberals. Takes time to clean up the exploded heads though.

If Romney was really on top of this, he’d say, You know, I actually agree with Hillary Clinton on this issue - and then pull out a tablet with her screeching diatribe about disagreeing with any administration and being patriotic.
I don’t think the media would ever ask him that question again. They’d have been Alinskyed.

He reminds me so much of McCain. Not even close.

Proof positive that part of the Romney strategy is to get under Obamas thin skin and provoke him into an on-camera meltdown. If that is the case, it is good strategy.

You’re right. This was a good answer. He’s telling them, quite nicely, I will if they will, and since he knows that the Democrats are totally incapable of NOT heckling and demonstrating whenever they have an opportunity, he’s on safe ground.
I am starting to seriously warm to the idea of him as the nominee. He may not be perfect, but the man thinks before he speaks - most of the time, anyhow.
