I've seen plenty of passion regarding the Obamas. Imho, most of us are extremely unhappy about what happened in 2008, and the prospect of a four year continuation in November. I believe that many of us are also discouraged, if not in despair by what happened during the campaign, and feel at least somewhat alienated from the Republican Party.

In the coming months approaching the election it is likely that both within and without the GOP, prospective voters will be increasingly combative. After the election, regardless of the winner, we are facing a political reality that will be more than challenging. Some of us fear that we may be facing the end of our country as we know it. I hope we are proven wrong.

Oh, I don’t think so.

I’ve seen articles recently where the tea party people are supporting Romney.

All major political figures in the Republican ranks are supporting Romney.

Obama is due to lose.

What I don’t understand is why conservatives put all their energy into dissing other conservatives who don’t meet their standard.

That was fine during the primaries, but now we have a candidate.

We are doing Obama’s work for him by constantly pointing out flaws in our candidates.

Let Obama do that for himself.

We need to unite against Obama.

If you must call it ABO, fine.

If you must threaten to beat your head against a wall in punishment (ala the house elfs in Harry Potter) then okay, but we need to vote Obama out.

That should be our main focus. Not that we hate the Bushes. Not that Rubio is just a pretty face who had his house foreclosed.

I don’t get it. So what are the Freepers who do not believe that Rubio is ineligible to run going to do? I mean, if Rubio is selected as the VP nominee, what are they going to do” You got, according to them, two ineligibles - Obama and Rubio.

This vote is about saving this country. And a third-party or write-in vote or staying at home won’t save anything. We don’t have that luxury this time. We blew it and didn’t nominate a conservative presidential candidate; but Obama must be stopped.

I know one thing. Rubio understands what it means to be an American more than most people. He has seen what communism has done to his family in Cuba.

Other than Sarah Palin, who would excite the Tea Party more than Rubio on the republican ticket? I don’t know of anyone else that would rouse true conservatives more than Rubio or who would help the ticket more.

My second choice would be Jindal.
Portman? Pawlenty? Christie? - these are the guys MSNBC is pushing on us.

Romney is in a box. If he chooses a moderate buddy of his, all you’re going to hear is a lot of air coming out of our tires.

I like the way you think. Nothing educates like contrasts.

Even if Rubio had been born in Cuba, he’s more of an American than the likes of anyone in Netroots. Sad to say, newly arrived LEGAL immigrants appreciate and value this country more than most who are born here. I know that’s not a constitutional argument. Just sayin.

Rubio Jindal or Ryan - would be hard for me to get excited about anyone else as VP choice. And Sarah of course, but not in the cards. How about Todd Palin?

“4 hurricanes in 1 year.”

How does your statement rebut Jeb’s cowarding out and not saving Terri Schiavo’s life like he supposedly wanted to do?

“4 hurricanes in 1 year.”

I think I got it, but I cannot agree that Jeb’s actions for four hurricanes, which would have been far less himself personally involved than failing to use his power of governor to intercede to prevent a murder.

Pure cowardice.

In my opinion, that’s like excusing OJ for two murders because he raised two daughters.

Or a son and a daughter, whichever gender kids OJ has.

“Maybe Romney should choose Rubio.”

I’m on the side of following the Constitution, not establishing precidents of attempting to go around it. That may be too smart by half.... Best is still having Rubio declare both his and Obama’s ineligibility. Seriously I have doubts that Rubio intends to put his hat in the ring now or ever. He’s a lawyer, knows Article II, and, unlike the Libs/donks values the Constitution as written and intended.

Some people, if not many, on FR would go for political expedience in place of Constitutional integrity. Rubio and Jindal are in the same eligibility mud pond as Obama. These men should just accept their birth status like many others, some of whom like myself who actually offered lives in wartime. The USA lost some of It’s Founders intentions with the election of Obama and it would be a real political cancer to have a repeat situation as to eligibility. As for me I put little respect in/for politicians who become CinC without any family military service. That goes for Romney also.

What a piece of crap.

He has never been to Cuba. I have. Have you? Never mind the answer. I know you have not.

I doubt if there ever has been one...

Wee Willie Mitty would be the first...

It would be unusual to find a family in America that has been here for 7 generations and no military service ever...

Other than the Romney’s that is...

I may be nuts but I’m incredibly well informed. Mitt is an NBC.
