U.N. could tax U.S. - based Web sites, leaked docs show

Global Internet tax suggested by European network operators ... is proposed for debate at a U.N. agency in December.

The documents (No. 1 No. 2) punctuate warnings that the Obama administration and Republican members of Congress raised last week about how secret negotiations at the ITU over an international communications treaty could result in a radical re-engineering of the Internet ecosystem and allow governments to monitor or restrict their citizens' online activities.

The leaked documents were posted by the Web site WCITLeaks...

Robert McDowell, a Republican member of the Federal Communications Commission who wrote an article (PDF) in the Wall Street Journal in February titled "The U.N. Threat to Internet Freedom," appeared to reference the ETNO's proposal for Internet taxes during last week's congressional hearing.

They could also allow "governments to monitor and restrict content or impose economic costs upon international data flows," added Ambassador Philip Verveer, a deputy assistant secretary of state.

FoxNews had one of their more liberal commentators reporting on this last night. (sorry I’m not remembering exactly what her name is right now...she’s on regularly)

She was acually raising the red flags on this and trying to get the message out. She also thinks that it’s pretty much a done deal.

...guess we shouldn’t have given them the internet.

Oh well.

Go pay your taxes (which they’ll be raising.) People who hate you need the money. :)

So many are!

Mitt Romney’s cap and trade carbon tax instituted in 2004 by executive order. California’s AB 32 Arnold’s Law.

So so many.

Clinton made this one possible. He gave ICANN to the internationalists and now they have voted to end their 'agreement' with the US to create a virtual United Nations

All you suckers who claim western civilization is God's gift to humanity fail to see that two world wars started in Europe, the anti-American UN and world court are promoted by Europe, and political correctness is the brainchild of Europe. Europeans know that they are no longer productive and wish to consume America as they drink the Hemlock. Western civilization has contributed socialism and communism in modern times. The European ancients loved slavery. The Romans butchered other peoples and love degenerate orgies. The Greeks gave us the poetry of homosexuality. Europe was a place to escape.

America was a place to start all over. We were told not to entangle ourselves with foreigners. Yet we do. We get bunghold for out generosity.

Without the stunning progress made by Western Civilization, most of the world world be as developed as Africa - without anything invented in the last 1,000 years and imported to there.

Go lay down.

That any President or Congress would surrender US sovereignty to the UN is no less than treason.

Supported by who? Both, Barack Obama and Mitt Romney are leftists, and neither one would do all of the necessary things and all of the correct things against the UN!

“US out of the UN
UN out of the US”

Thank you, this needs to become a major talking point in every national election cycle.

Go lay down.

You are confusing western civilization with American pragmatism.
