Four-term Former (Dem) Congressman & Obama 2008 Co-Chair Announces He's Now a Republican

You might think that the news of an African-American former Congressman switching his publicly declared party loyalty from Democrat to Republican would a national story.

Well, it isn't at the Associated Press, as a search returning no results at the wire service's national site on the full name of former Alabama Congressman Artur Davis (not in quotes) done at about 9 p.m. indicates. Additionally, the link to news about Davis's party switch is currently perched in the "Post Local" section at the Washington Post's web site. If this makes TV anywhere but Fox News, I'll be surprised, even though by any rational definition of "news," this is an objectively big deal. Davis is a former four-term Congressman, was a Barack Obama campaign co-chair in 2008, and was a former member of the Congressional Black Caucus. The last time an African-American congressman or former congressman changed his party from Democrat to Republican was ... well, maybe someone else can come up with a previous example, but I can't.

And so it begins all over again, Democrats invading the Republican party to continue to destroy from within, the faster the Tea Party gets some Conservatives elected the faster the Democrats will invade. Once a Democrat always a RAT, I don’t trust any of them.

That’s what I was wondering, too.

Are there REALLY any ‘blue dogs’ left? -or- Is it a strategy by the Democraps to FURTHER infiltrate the Repugs because of the Tea Party backlash and elections? IOW....to keep the RNC more liberal?

Hmmmm.

Isn’t this the man who has been very vocal about how deeply the Democrat party is into voter fraud?

We can only hope he isn’t going to just be a democrat with an “R” behind his name. Time will tell, he will be accountable.

More likely a strategy of survival on the part of Cong. Davis.

He was the only Democrat Congressman to vote against Obamacare...

Well, yes he was, that was another time. Since then the dieheart RAT democrats discovered what it took to get elected, so they crossed over and the Republican party has never been the same. You don't see it going the other way R's becoming D's to get eleceted, hahahaha.

I predict for every Tea Party conservative that is elected there will another cross over Democrat.

You realize that, at one time, virtually every Republican in Oklahoma today was a Democrat.

Out of every 100 people who stand and say they are a Republican today (not an independent)....I’d make a humble guess that twenty-five of the folks would confess that they were likely democrats in their youth. What changed? Typically, they finished college....got real jobs....eventually figured out that the big world wasn’t like the professor said, and by age forty....were confirmed Republicans. How many Republicans convert by age forty to Democrats? Maybe five out of a hundred, my humble guess.

They do when they are about to be crushed in the elections and then the clean up to begin with the purging of communist activities (including Ayres, Obama, Jones, etc) begins.
