As the lone Democrat seeking to challenge Elizabeth Warren in the Senate primary in Massachusetts, Marisa DeFranco has been ridiculed, admonished and, worst of all, ignored.
But for the moment, Ms. DeFranco, an immigration lawyer with high energy and a scrappy band of volunteers, is enjoying a burst of momentum. She surprised party insiders by collecting enough valid signatures by the May 1 deadline more than 10,000, gathered everywhere from town meetings to town dumps to qualify for the Democratic primary on Sept. 6.
If Ms. DeFranco clears one more hurdle winning 15 percent of the delegate vote at the state Democratic convention in Springfield next Saturday she will secure a spot on the primary ballot, giving Ms. Warren, a nationally known consumer advocate, an unwanted distraction from her anticipated showdown with Senator Scott P. Brown, the Republican incumbent.
Im sick and tired of party bosses or machines telling us whos going to be the candidate, said Ms. DeFranco, who is 41. The democratic process should be messy; its a test, its a gauntlet.
Ms. DeFrancos only other experience as a candidate was a run for the...
Nor has Ms. DeFranco refrained from criticizing Ms. Warrens handling of a controversy over whether she had misrepresented herself as a member of an ethnic minority, which stemmed from a Boston Herald article last month. The Herald reported that Harvard Law School, where Ms. Warren teaches, had once described her as American Indian when it was under criticism for hiring too many white men.
Ms. Warren has said she is descended from two tribes, saying she was told so by her family, but has offered no documentation. She has also not explained why a Harvard official described her to The Harvard Crimson as a Native American in 1996...

One of these guys?
So long as Fauxcohontis loses, who cares. It’s a strange state anyway, where such a bold faced liar can even be a serious contender.
I’m almost tempted to contribute to her campaign.
If she wins, then contribute to her opponent.
This (B)Witch getting a job at a JUCO or being elected to dogcatcher also was not supposed to happen.
The democrats have far exceeded their expectations in putting this idiot into a high position.
This is not suppose to happen I am running against myself and I will win against myself because I am Poka honkie damit
I can even fathom any candidate from either party with what she did even being in the race it speaks more about Massachusetts than Warren.
Chief Squatting Bull has got some problems there...
If she get the nod for a primary challenge I’ll be changing my party affiliation to “unenrolled” and vote for Marisa in the primary.
Not that Scott Brown is a great conservative, but he's better than what the Dems have to offer and retaining his seat is key to the overall GOP take-over strategy.
I'm hoping that DeFranco gets on the primary ballot and provides a summer of angst for Warren as she will then have to turn her attention to her challenger. But in the end, I'd like to see Warren win the primary in a squeaker and then limp into the general election, further wounded. As well, many of the unhappy DeFranco voters will switch to Scott Brown and we might actually see Brown get re-elected in a landslide.
DeFranco is another leftist loon. Let them destroy each other.
