On the day after the election, my conscience will be crystal clear. I have seen many posters claim this attitude is insane etc. So be it. But when we look in the mirror, we will feel no regret because what we believe in really is more to me than words typed on a website.

So true. If everyone posting to this website had the same courage of their convictions, we probably wouldn't be in the mess we're in now. No one can force you to transgress against your own core principles. That's a step that each person makes all on their own. Once taken, it's a step that cannot be walked back.

Some of us realize that our honor and integrity are more important than our bodies. For others, it's a trait which is to be admired, but never attained.

For myself, a life lived without personal honor and integrity, is no life at all. It's the walking death of spirit.

Regardless of the excuses and explanations posted by others, I believe you are all too near the mark in your guess as to what motivates a number of Mitt-haters at FR.

The country has gone to Hell and the game of politics is a game the average voter doesn’t want to play anymore. We are a Godless, ruderless nation adrift in a sea of political nonsense.

>>Anybody who votes for Obama a second time, knowing what we know about him<<

...and what we don’t know about him.

Me too! If these clowns aren’t collecting a paycheck from the DNC or the obama campaign they should be.

The coming landslide of defeat for Obama will be HUGE!

Don't be foolish...this is gonna be a close one.Don't let anyone on either side tell you differently.Complacency on our part will absolutely guarantee an Osama Obama victory.

Mark Warner will support Obama, stand or fall. St. Mark will never desert him.

Same with Claire McCaskill..

Flame away, I dont care, but I’m predicting at least 40 states for Romney. I don’t give two sh*ts about elevators, horses, or bullying. And I’ll bet enough Americans feel the same way..enough to vote in droves against Obama. Bottom line a freaking Amoeba would be better than Obama and Romney at his absolute worst will be better than Baraq Hussein Obama. America is waking up wondering who they went to bed with and will chew off their arms to get away..

I understand exactly where you are coming from. Mitt is no prize, but I believe in my heart of hearts that ABO is the route we must take just to stabilize the patient..

I disagree with the premise of low voter turnout; I think Obama get his clock cleaned with record numbers..

I’m voting Romney because I fear a second Obama term more than I fear being branded not conservative enough for people like you.

Honest enough for you?

Vote as you like. That’s your business. Conservative?. No. Words mean things. As the quote goes...”How many legs does a dog have if you call the tail a leg? Four. Calling a tail a leg does not make it one.”

Show me how voting for a man that has a record totally at odds with any legitimate definition of ‘conservatism’ can be ‘conservative’ and I’ll gladly recant. You want to vote MR over Obama? That’s your call. But please stop rationalizing to yourself and the rest of us that it is a ‘conservative’ thing to do. Playing musical liberals is what Democrats do. OR it used to be confined to them anyway. Now it seems standard fare for ‘internet conservatives’.

Seriously, you would rather have Obama re-elected? I don’t like Romney either, but a paint chip would be better than Obama. Yes, I’m p*ssed at the GOPe for foisting this guy on us, and I have no illusions about him being a Reagan, but knowing what Obama is, I’d rather take a chance with Romney than knowingly contribute to his re-election..

What I’d like is for people to be honest about what they are doing and why they are doing it.

You believe you are doing the right thing. So be it. I believe that a vote cast for any person who believes and has legislated in ways and for things that are the polar opposite of everything I value, and what once made America a beacon of greatness, is the very mistake that led us to our present situation.

I believe that until we start voting ‘for’ what we value rather than ‘against’ the other guy’, we will continue to devolve as a nation and a people.

I believe that it is the sheerest of insanity to think that voting against your values is in any way the path to a solution.

I believe that we brought this mess on ourselves and there is no way we are going to get out of it by making the same mistakes over and over. Those being voting in people we disagree with out of fear of the other guy.

If you believe I am mistaken about any of this, please explain why. But we ARE going to suffer the consequences of our actions either way. We can start now on a path of correction or simply repeat the process in 4 years with a combination of all new excuses and rehashed/failed ones. That’s our choice. I choose to stop feeding the problem.

Loved your response! I have two toddler tantrum throwers in my home as well as a tween and a very self-righteous 14 year old, and you have nailed the temperament exactly, and very eloquently!
