Between the wealthy, transplanted New York liberals that reside on the 'gold coast' and the all-powerful 'public service' unions, the Connecticut Democrat party is owned by leftists of one stripe or another. That Connecticut taxpayers continue to put Democrats in power no matter what they do or how much they tax is the core of the problem and that won't change in our lifetime. Perhaps when Connecticut, like many other states run by left-wing Democrats with no real opposition, is bankrupt and unable to pay the big salaries, lush benefits and huge pensions to state workers and the welfare goodies dry up, things may change...but I doubt it. The state is in thrall to socialism and the Connecticut Democrat party - that gave America Chris Dodd - is corrupted by practically unfettered power. Too bad, Connecticut is a beautiful state.
