WOODSON: Black-on-black crime in the suites
The Washington times ^ | Thursday, May 24, 2012 | Robert L. Woodson, Sr.

For decades, it was presumed that having blacks in positions of political leadership on the local, state and national levels would serve as a safeguard to preserve the victories of the civil rights movement and ensure that the people on whose behalf those battles had been fought could benefit from the new opportunities that those victories afforded. But in time, just the opposite has happened.

In an era where race has begun to serve as both a shield (rebuffing legitimate criticism as evidence of racism) and a sword (attacking dissenting opinions as racist) many black officials have entered zones of comfort insulated from responsibility. In many cities, monopolies of opportunist leadership have reigned unchallenged for decades.

“This graft and corruption continues and mounts, with little public outcry”

It’s called “getting even with Whitey” and that is why there’s no outcry from their constituency. Problem is, it is the Blacks themselves who suffer the most.

The graft and corruption is a direct result of stupidity, ignorance and poor impulse control. The truly amazing thing being we experienced this same corruption in the 1870’s it was called Reconstruction. Today it could be called Reconstruction II. It will be tolerated as blacks are too important as a bloc of votes. The Democrats have their votes and the Republicans want their votes. Given the egalitarian basis of current American society the graft and corruption will always be met with denial; i.e. “it really is not happening!”

I’ve always thought that some blacks didn’t want equality per se, just the opportunity to be as rich and corrupt as the whites they complained about in the name of “civil rights”.

It’s kinda like that old Amos ‘n’ Andy Radio then TV show and Al Sharpton and the rest are all playing particularly malevolent versions of The Kingfish. That was a funny show. Now it’s grotesque reality.
