A new intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) so secret it has no name yet has been successfully tested in Russia, the defence ministry says.
The new weapon is designed to penetrate Nato's European missile defence shield, Russian defence sources told the Interfax news agency.
The test came days after Nato said its system had reached "interim operational capability".
Nato says its shield is meant to protect members from a missile fired by a rogue state - understood to mean Iran. It plans to increase its capability by deploying further assets in the years ahead.
However, Russia says the shield upsets the military balance and has threatened to turn its missile launchers on vital Nato sites.

Former Secretary of State Colin Powell said on MSNBC that he was not impressed when former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney said Russia was the countrys top geostrategic threat. Cmon, Mitt, think, he said. That isnt the case. Powell added that some of Romneys foreign policy advisers are quite far to the right and their recommendations should get a second thought.
Powell is an extreme leftist.
Powell is too busy pushing sodomy in the military-—he has no idea about anything except his colon and promoting Marxism—the destruction of Virtue—the family unit and transforming our country from Christian Ethics into the Afghani/pagan/Satanic/Marxist Worldview.
Why not page Dennis Kucinich or Al Franken?
Barack Hussein Obama will deal with this if/after he is re-elected.
There is no such thing as "Nato's European missile defence". It does not exist. No such thing has ever existed.
"In a private conversation about the planned U.S.-led NATO missile defense system in Europe, President Barack Obama asked outgoing Russian President Dmitry Medvedev for space on the issue.
This is my last election, Obama told Medvedev. After my election I have more flexibility.
I understand. I will transmit this information to Vladimir, Medvedev said, referring to incoming President Vladimir Putin."

Obama was talking with Russian President Dmitry Medvedev when neither of them realized that their conversation was being picked up by microphones. Here is what they said:
Obama: On all these issues, but particularly missile defense, this, this can be solved, but its important for him to give me space.
Medvedev: Yeah, I understand. I understand your message about space. Space for you ...
Obama: This is my last election. After my election, I have more flexibility.
Medvedev: I understand. I will transmit this information to Vladimir.
This is my last election. After my election I have more flexibility. That statement tells us much about the presidents mindset.
The specific mention of missile defense is worrisome enough. Mr. Obama has retreated from the missile defense plan that was negotiated with European allies during the George W. Bush administration. Apparently, he is signaling Moscow that he intends to retreat further. The clear implication from the presidents comments is that he cannot tell the American people before the election what he plans to do after the election.
In addition, there is the phrase on all these issues, implying more is at stake than just missile defense.
Article: Obama plans double cross on missile defense
When it comes to keeping America safe, we shouldnt be too flexible:

This Medvedev conversation shows Barry still trying to fulfill the unilateral disarmament goals he wrote glowingly about in a Marxist rag back in 1983!
I cannot understand why the Russians continue to get so paranoiac about a missile defense system that so many progressives for so many years have insisted could not possibly work.
Obama and progressives are unwitting/willful agents of Soviet/Russian intelligence?
The Russians are trying to build a missile as good as our Trident D5. First deployed in 1990. Range of over 7,400 kilometers with an accuracy of 90 meters CEP.
“why the Russians continue to get so paranoiac”, maybe the Russkies remember NATO’s interventions in Yugoslavia, Libya, Georgia, Af/Pak, Syria?, etc, etc....
