Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) might not have the votes in his own committee to hold Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt of Congress.
A number of Republicans on the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee are wary of moving forward with Issas proposed measure, putting the powerful chairman in an awkward position as he attempts to build support for the move.
Two of the committees 23 Republicans have declined to support the measure at this point, while five other GOP panel members did not respond to repeated requests for comment over the last two weeks. When compared with the 16 Republicans on the committee who have actively been speaking in favor of the measure, the silence, lack of outspoken support and desire by these eight GOP caucus members to avoid the issue could be a problem for Issa.
Republican leadership has been hesitant and reluctant to voice its support for Issas move, possibly owing to the chairmans inability to guarantee the measures passage in his own committee.
For more than a year, Issa has fervidly investigated the Justice Departments (DOJ) role in approving controversial gun walking tactics used in Operation Fast and Furious. Issa has regularly hinted that the tactics must have been approved at the highest levels of the DOJ and in October issued a second subpoena for thousands of documents and records in an attempt to discover who was involved.
Issa says the DOJ has stopped producing documents for the committee and is violating a congressional subpoena. And earlier this month, he began circulating a draft copy of a resolution that would find Holder in contempt of Congress.
But support for the proposed measure has been slow to build.

Cowardly, weasely Republicrats!
isn’t contempt of congress a crime?
since when do we need to vote to decide to arrest criminals?
DAMN COWARDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The original creators of their offices (Thomas Jefferson, Madison, Washington, et al) would be ashamed of these silly pathetic excuses for ‘men’ holding their former offices
This is why the TEA Party exists. This is why Conservatives are tired of going along to get along.
Then I guess summary execution is out of the question?
Bump!
This shows just how corrupt the republicans are.
Oh no! If we go after Holder, then Obama and the lying media we’ll say we’re only doing it because we’re “racists”! We’d better do nothing at all, because once our opponents say something... there’s literally nothing we can do about it!
Let’s just pretend that Brian Terry and the others never existed so we can save the most important people... ourselves!

Let Freedom Ring,
Just another reason we need to change Congress. Get people in with some cajones.
One word PUSSIES
Republicans are afraid of the Rats discovering what’s in their closets if they go forward.
It reminds me of when Denny Hastert didn’t want to go after William Jefferson D-LA, he was probably afraid they would find what Hastert hid in his own freezer.
Time to start making some phone calls
Not committed
Rep. Justin Amash (R-Mich.) plans to hold off making his decision until a final draft is put forward

Unbelievable. I was about to type the exact thing but was trying to think of a way to spell it differently so as not to offend some. But you said it right.
PUSSIES PUSSIES PUSSIES !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Unreal.
John Boehner is a disgrace.
Any Republican unwilling to demand full accountability is not a real Second Amendment supporter and should be voted out.
This argument is, IMHO, the most effective one we have.
There is the possibility the Republicans are also worried that some of the “Gun Walker et al) anti-Second Amendment issue may be traced back to some RINO’s. Good! Let’s be rid of those RINO’s.
All government is corrupt. We have elected elite core of socialists/Marxist communists and America will never be the Country it was. The ignorance is unbelievable.
