Bless you rabbi but I’ll believe the Jewish people are finally awakening from their political stupor when we see the election returns (votes). Meanwhile, your good Christian “younger brothers in faith” will protect America (and yes, definitely Israel too!)

I am Jewish and I have been telling you guys for some time that you will be surprised how Jews vote this year. Between Israel and ObamaCare, he’s toast. Not to promote the stereotype, but many Jewish families have a Doctor In it. Doctors HATE Obamacare. They know what it will mean. And they are screaming about it. Just wait and see.

I do hope that the Jewish vote swings heavily against Obama. He’s the most anti-Jewish and anti-Israel President since Jimmy Carter. Would choosing a good running mate help Romney with them?

Perhaps Mitt will follow the democrat pattern and select his VP as impeachment insurance, i.e. the weakest, most ineffectual, dumbest member of his party available. Boehner, maybe?

Romney will benefit from a good VP choice, yes. Any candidate does. I personally think he needs to emphasize bho’s economic disaster along with his anti-American foreign policy fiascos. Still and all, millions of people of all political persuasions will vote for almost anyone ti be rid of a man who patently isn’t eligible for, or up to, the job. (Yet there’s lots of risk yet. He can try to buy more votes with our tax money and there’s always an “October surprise.”

IMHO...

Please forgive my abruptness, I hope only to cause contemplation and understanding, perhaps with some jarring words.

It's pretty clear that those in this video mostly are not really awakened to all relevant issues. They have not rejected the liberal idea that the U.S. government should tax and spend on liberal programs. Their only issue where they voice opposition to Obama is Israel. They do not say that they want "social spending" cut so that a strong U.S. military can be afforded. What good is America to Israel if America is bankrupt ?

Pushing Israel to accept muslim demands is not new to Obama. Clinton and Bush II both embraced islam, which strengthened it greatly my providing such a heavily-weighted endorsement as from a sitting U.S. President. If President Reagan had never made his Berlin speech, but said those words in private to Gorbachev only, they would have had no real effect, as they would simply be a private plea instead of a public declaration.

This being taped in a deli, folks need to wake up and smell the coffee.

Frankly, I'm tired of liberal voters back and forth; supporting Dems until they are afraid for Israel (while many in Israel also buy in to the idea that if Israel just would give up land that islam would not hate them), and then supporting Repubs until the anxiety has passed. Then it's back to supporting liberals who abandon Israel and cut the U.S. military again and continue to enable the migration of muslims to America, furthering the muslim goal of establishing a future majority in America. All islam needs to do is keep us all talking and bide their time for them to defeat us and make our lives most ugly and painful.

One of my ancestries is Dutch. Do I insist upon the U.S. providing a backstop for The Netherlands militarily ? No. Neither do I for the U.K., Germany or France (again, ancestors from all those nations). I'm not being mean, I simply recognize the fact that I am an American despite my ancestry. Of course I am interested in what goes on in these and all other countries around the world. But how soon do we forget that WWI turned into a world war because of alliances. Alliances should not be oversimplified and the other country essentially written a blank diplomatic check. If, for example, the U.K. does something bad or stupid enough that they fall flat on their face (militarily or even economically), must America come like a parent to patch up their bumps and bruises and make things all better ?

Do I insist upon endless trillions of U.S. tax dollars wasted domestically on paying people to stay jobless, helpless, self-destructive and poor ? And then cut the U.S. military budget (since we're "so powerful already") ? No. I steadfastly vote for those who a) stand up for moral values, b) are good stewards of public funds who seek no higher burden on taxpayers than is absolutely necessary and who do not seek to buy votes with taxpayer dollars and c) understand that continual support of the military keeps it technologically (including people, training, etc.) ahead of adversaries so is essential to the peace of America and d) understand that the relative peace in the world since WWII could have been greater if America was stronger and would have been much less if America was weaker.

I'm both sickened and angered when good people are attacked by evil people. When they ask for help I never find myself able to think that refusing the help is an option. So I'll never side with evil people who want to subject those who are decent to a tyranny. But I won't help people who don't want to help themselves. Time and again one finds that this is really enabling people to retain their self-destructive and self-hating habits and beliefs; it's actually cruel. So one must wait until enough of the good people really admit that they are facing an evil that wants to kill and tryannize them and they agree to join in the fight for their own safety and liberty.

Most every American ally is supremely guilty of the same neglect of their own defenses and relying too much on America to provide an emergency backstop for them in case they face a catastrophic attack. And increasingly traditional American values and strength are painted as a bad thing amongst some of the leadership of our allies. If people could only hear themselves with an unbiased ear; what country has helped more other countries than America ?

I'm tired of people only wanting American blood and treasure and being unwilling to put up very much of their own of either. On domestic policy, people want to espouse all sorts of wicked and idolatrous behavior. This behavior is a heavy anchor tied to the foot of the nation, a burden on her good citizens. Those of us who "cling to guns and Bibles" are supposed to accept government control of our lives and our children, give up our God-given rights described in our founding documents and give up our faith; any gains we manage are scorned by liberals and taxed all the more heavily the greater they are. We are ridiculed publicly in government schools and in the press and in entertainment. We are made out to be fools. Yet all we want is for everyone to have the same freedom and opportunity, whether in America or elsewhere.

Amongst American Jews and Christians, there are a relative minority that see the truth, admit it and accept the real burdens required to sustain our life and liberty, and are not fooled by politician's enticing words. Like or not, when one votes, one has a responsibility to actually understand who the candidates are, to do a little research prior to voting if necessary. The responsibility can legally be shirked, but consequences of the shirking can not be avoided.

But they have started. Their entire world view is being shaken and they have made a radical decision for themselves- to be against the presumptive DemocRAT president. We need to foster it and encourage it. :)

Frankly, other than entertainment, I don't see the logic of Rabbi Nesenoff's attempting to gauge Jewish political opinion in the US by bringing cameras into a Jewish deli in New York and interviewing volunteer patrons, if indeed that was the intended purpose. It's certainly not a scientifically valid polling method.

I believe Nesenoff himself was an admitted lefty before he ran into Helen Thomas at the White House. I wonder how much he may have altered his political ideology as a result of his adverse personal experiences with the left.

But they have started. Their entire wold view is being shaken and they have made a radical decision for themselves - to be against the presumptive DemocRAT president.

From this Jewish Republican perspective, I do see some hope with these people, but it's a small self-selected sample and, although we might get a few votes from them this year which - New York nowadays being New York nowadays - won't help us win anything. However, if Florida Jews think pretty much the same way in aggregate, it could be an important factor this November. There are several other "battleground" states where the same could be said to a lesser degree.

In the long haul, though, these people, as a group, need to break their lifelong addiction to the 'Rats. Just like drug addicts, getting off the 'Rat influence for one presidential election isn't likely to cure them for life of their self-destructive addiction.

Running into Helen Thomas?

What I was referring to is that this particular rabbi did encounter Helen Thomas unexpectedly at a White House event shortly before Thomas was put out to pasture - about two years ago. He engaged her in a conversation about Israel and the Middle East which precipitated vile antisemitic remarks from the senior White House correspondent. The rabbi taped Thomas and put her comments out over the Internet, and in so doing became known to many of us for the first time.

Was this a religious deli outlet?

My guess is that it was a kosher deli, so yes, it would be "religious" in that respect. But that doesn't imply that all or even most of the patrons are "religious" and some might be non-Jews as well.

Good for the rabbi!
(Thanks, too.)

Thomas: such a vile person... and the White House and mass media kept her sitting right there in full public view for years and years. What a shameful embarassment to America.

At any event, thanks for the info!
