HELP WANTED: Seeking a go-getter able to thwart sea level rise, reduce polluting fossil fuel emissions and protect strained drinking water supplies. Must have lobbying skills to convince local government and residents to invest in preparing for climate change. Al Gore-style PowerPoint abilities a plus.
Palm Beach County is in the market for a climate change czar.
While the actual job title and day-to-day duties for this new county post remain in flux, the far-reaching goal is to get a county with more than one million people ready for climate change. That includes promoting "environmental sustainability" efforts such as recycling and energy efficiency.
The new post would be at least a two-year experiment, expected to cost about $200,000, which would be paid for by a pollution recovery trust fund.
"Florida is ground zero for this," County Commission Chairwoman Shelley Vana-Wanker said. "Can we actually change the course of events? We have a responsibility to try."
Critics question the value of adding an employee when the county faces a nearly $15 million budget shortfall. The same day the commission endorsed filling the position, it balked at a recommendation to outsource 900 government jobs.

It would be more responsible to change the climate of stupidity that has invaded otherwise sensible people. The warming scam has run it’s course and while it is not proven to be threatening our climate it is certainly threatening our freedom.

Someone has to hire these punk kids coming out of college with worthless degrees, for $70k a year starting out.

At 6' above sea level, the global warming czar for Palm Beach County will experience a Catch-22. The validity of the job is proportionate to the rising sea level. IOW, without global warming and rising sea levels there is no job. With global warming and rising sea levels there is no job.
So the real justification is a very long sales cycle, hoping the product will fade away after you qualify for a public payroll pension gig.

Who would have ever thought that the taxpayers of Palm Beach County would be the ones chosen by a Vana-Wanker to “save da planet”. Freaky man!

"Florida is ground zero for this," County Commission Chairwoman Shelley Vana-Wanker said. "Can we actually change the course of events? We have a responsibility to try." This is so profouondly foolish that I'm almost at a loss for words.
The people in Florida have a responsibility to remove credulous fools and dangerous idiots like County Commission Chairwoman Shelley Vana-Wanker from positions of public trust and responsibility.

HELP WANTED: Seeking a go-getter able to thwart sea level rise, reduce polluting fossil fuel emissions and protect strained drinking water supplies.Suggest you canvas all the insane asylums within two hundred miles.
I would suggest as an additional option, all kindergarten classes within a couple of hundred miles.
I seriously am considering raising the percentage of the U.S. population with significant mental impairment issues from 20% to perhaps 40%.
That's all I'm saying.

two thoughts:
1. hire someone from New Orleans where the city exists under sea level. (sarc)
2. how much of the beach property loss is from rising seas and how much from normal beach erosion which takes from one place and deposits it elsewhere?
