Are you looking forward to the new Total Recall?
The Guardian ^ | Monday 2 April 2012 | Adam Boult

When rumours of a Total Recall remake started circulating a couple of years ago, Guardian writer Ben Child gave voice to sentiments felt by many fans of the original film:

Total Recall hardly needs a remake. While it was one of the last big-budget movies before the CGI revolution, its over-the-top look has helped it stay timeless. Furthermore, modern Hollywood simply has no equivalent to Schwarzenegger – that preposterous, yet magnificently magnetic screen presence. Who could carry off the mix of silly and serious required to make this an exciting adventure?

A remake of PollyAnna staring Jackie Evancho would be much better..

I still don't get the ending of Total Recall. Was it all a dream? You know, where Arnold "gets the girl and has adventures" as promised by the virtual reality company? Is it intentionally ambiguous?

I still enjoyed the flick, though. And the effects were great for the time. Loved it when Arnold's face appears from under the woman mask.

Just wait. There will be a TV movie showing how the courageous Obama bucked his advisers to order the SEALs to go get OBL. Should have it ready to air by late October.

With Sharon Stone......maybe.

Laaaaaaa I’m tired, was fixing to go to bed about
midnight when I thought I saw some dog pee on
my kitchen floor, so I put down some paper towels
but the more paper I put down the more water there
seemed to be, it had been raining earlier so I figured
Maybe the roof was leaking but it kept getting worse
then I heard a noise in my well room, whoa water
spraying everywhere. I had a leaky pressure gage
that I knew about when I bought the place but hadn’t
gotten around to fixing it. Well sure enough, it
had gone bad then when I touched it it fell off
completely. I managed to turn the pump off, although
the breaker was in the same room and now soaking wet.
Luckily being the handy type I had every thing I needed
to remove the broken thread, tape and put in a new
coupler and by 1:45 every thing was fixed but still
water every where, got a heat lamp and fan going
to try and dry it all up.
A good thing I had a cup of coffee earlier.
Yeow.
Now I’m ready for bed.
t.
Did you find/buy a house yet?
I seem to remember you were looking in north ga.
I live a couple of miles from Amicalola falls.
Really like being this far north, very quiet
at night, lots of wildlife, I even inherited
a chicken.( came with the house)

I have no problem with a “remake” as long as it’s not just rehashing the original. If they’re putting a new spin, new interpretation, new/different conflicts into it, then why not?

The preview looks interesting, and, as a 3D/motion graphics hobbyist, the VFX look awesome to me, so I’ll definitely give it a look.

The end result of such a faux CONservative is that he was more destructive to the conservative movement here that even Gray Davis which, of course has now led Californians into giving Gray's old boss, "Governor Moonbeam" into the governorship once more.

Just like Mitt Romney. Be prepared for a full Democrat takeover in 2016 if Romney wins.

if we'd had a commie-crat Governer that could have motivated what legislators we had into stopping the commie-crat

Just like Mitt Romney. With him as President, the Republicans will pass whatever liberal policy he wants. If Obama proposed the same thing, they'd block it. Just imagine how many Republicans would have voted for Obamacare if the same bill had been called Romneycare 2.0 and offered by Romney.

all the amateur king makers even here on FR let Arnold seduce them into thinking that Tom couldn't win the election. They created an obvious "self-fulfilling prophecy" and the rest is now a devastating liberal history

Just like Mitt Romney. He was the "inevitable" one while the others were "unelectable." According to Karl Rove and his ilk.

Those who do not learn from devastating liberal history are doomed to repeat it.

They've finally gotten 'round to making it? About time.

If they can manage filmed versions of Ringworld and Rendezvous with Rama before I die, my life will not be wasted.

They started filming Ender's Game in February. It's got Harrison Ford, Ben Kingsley, and some other "name" actors.

The producers have a blog about the movie production, with set pictures and such.

I would have liked to see a Halo movie, but Microsoft managed to screw it up

I thought that the original "Total Recall" was the best sci-fi/action hybrid I had ever seen.

We saw it at the WDW Pleasure Island complex with one of the earlier Dolby Audio systems. It was amazing.

Hot Latina, Hot Blonde, Big Crazy German guy making lots of grunting noises and loads of guns.

Then we hit Pleasure Island and partied until memory loss took over.

What a great night out that was...

So no. I could care less about a movie I've already seen once and considered one of the best. I don't feel like being disappointed.
