Are you kidding me? I get that Andrew Sullivan is a man with an agenda and I completely support his right to make his opinions heard. I also understand that Newsweek – like any other publication – is in business to make a profit and that frequently involves pushing the envelope in terms of catching the public’s attention.
But at what point is too much simply too much? When is the shark definitively jumped and the daily bread burned past any reasonable definition of being toast? Ladies and gentlemen, this would be that point.

Brown, whose tenure as editor at Newsweek has seen an array of controversial covers, will respond with the above, pegged to Andrew Sullivan’s piece on Obama’s support for same-sex marriage: “The First Gay President.”
The poster that comes from this is going to sell millions. Take that to the bank.
I’m not such a political neophyte as to suggest that this is unique in politics, but the bold faced, brazen machinations and ham handed plotting which have characterized this “evolution” in the President’s position on the subject at hand are rather breathtaking. And I’m not saying that people don’t actually “evolve” in their positions, beliefs or ideology. I know that my own attitudes and beliefs in my twenties were a far cry – in some instances at least – from where I stand in my fifties. Very few of us spring out of the halls of high school fully formed with all of the opinions we’ll hold until the grave.

I wrote a short vanity on the General Chat side of FR saying that the media is setting Obama up for martyrdom for his brave stand on homosexual marriage.
When Obama loses, and he will, it will be said that he sacrificed his presidency for the noble cause of gay marriage.
More and more lib pundits are realizing Obama is a loser. Even AP had a story about what a global disappointment Obama has been. And there is Klein’s book about Obama fittingly called, The Amateur.
The media is giving him a halo and a golden parachute for the coming fall from grace.
Martyrdom is coming.

The Supreme Court has been ruling that we are not a Christian country any longer. The Bible isn’t the law of the land. The courts have interpreted a penumbra Constitution to reflect this slouch toward Gemorrah. A pagan country can define marriage as it wishes. We are a pagan country now.
Christians should always say Sacramental Marriage to reflect the union of man and woman as God intended.
And saying that will eventually constitute illegal discrimination against yet another federally protected identity group.

The Clintons would be overjoyed to participate in such a plot.

You know I made a half whimsical post earlier about Obama falling into a phony coma a couple weeks before the election and playing on the sympathy vote of which you speak. I can see the nightly Union/OWS candle light vigils now - until the election.
If he was re-elected he would suddenly come out of his coma.
If he lost he could disappear to Cartegena or Venezuela and never have to concede the election - being the narcissist that he is.

Remember what Farrakhan has been saying for a while now? Trying to convince people that he is a messiah way back when (2008) to the NOI? A few weeks (maybe a couple months) back Farrakhan was speaking about Obama and specifically mentioned martyrdom. Well, to a Christian-centric culture a messiah necessitates martyrdom. Barack, with exposure of his lifestyle, is not keeping things on the DL(down-low) anymore and will (of necessity of appearance) lose his support from even the members of his former church community at Trinity.
I’m wondering how his friends in the Muslim Brotherhood will respond to this? He’s been moving and shaking things in the Islamic world quite a bit, and one of the balls he’s been juggling is going to fall (no pun intended). Whether it’s Communists, or Islamists the *best* thing that could happen for their long-term goals is for this nightmare to turn into a crisis they can then exploit to coat people’s eyes with anger and sympathy...
It reminds me of what happened to MLK, Jr., and how Jesse Jackson is now one of the biggest hypocrites out there on issues of “racial harmony” having completely skewed everything MLK, Jr. believed and preached about. It reminds me of how Malcolm X was murdered as well (as his mind was opening to the truth). It wouldn’t surprise me a bit if this was “Plan B” all along... and Barack is so self-obsessed that he can’t even see how much others are using him and can’t really stand him.
