(AP) DAMASCUS, Syria - Two strong explosions shook the Syrian capital Thursday, sending a plume of thick black smoke into the sky.
The explosions were in the Qazaz neighborhood, where a Syrian intelligence agency has its headquarters.
The explosions happened just before 8 a.m., when employees are usually arriving at work.
CBS News' George Baghdadi, reporting from the scene, says about 40 burned-out cars and possibly dozens of badly burned bodies were scattered in front of the intelligence office.

Terror is a double-edged sword. Sooner or later, Damascus was going to feel its own steel.

The religion of peace is at war again. They hate so stinking much that they divided their gutter religion in two parties and they hate each others guts and kill each other at will. Amazing how they hate so much. Either accept our brand of thinking or we will kill you! Oh, and if you don’t side with one or the other side of it, we will blow you up also! Great. Wonderful. Such peaceful, loving, caring, murdering thugs.

I haven’t heard of bombs going off killing and maiming dozens of people in Detroit and Chicago. Sure there way too much violence in those two cites, but equating it to middle east violence, IMO, is a stretch.

This overseas crap is just a diversion from domestic issues; our country has been “fundamentally changed” and we’re supposed to think Syria is important?
We no longer have the luxury of pretending to care about people halfway around the world with whom we don’t share a single trait in common.

Come to think of it, if the Messiah is defeated that might happen. On the other hand, if he declares martial law and suspends the election, the riots (actually the rebellion)would occur elsewhere.

You will see it in Detroit and Chicago when the Muslims in Dearborn, MI feel sufficiently disrespected.

Yes, when Muslims keep busy killing each other they have less time to kill infidels. May they war with themselves from Morocco clear across to Lahore.

There is a lot of talk about this whole 'declare martial law' deal but if it appears that 0bama is trying to pull that crap for the sole purpose of holding on to power, it is my belief that somewhere within our military will arise true Constitutional patriots who will make that choice between their Oath to uphold the Constitution, and their military obligations to obey the Commander-in-Chief whose stability is quite honestly already in question.
Our Republic is going to be saved, it is just uncertain if it will be saved 'clean' or if it will be saved 'dirty'.
As long as I see 0bama and the rest of his crew ending up before a military tribunal to answer for their crimes, I'm good with either approach.

Until just a couple weeks ago there had been no protesting, etc. in Damascus. The mideast news folks have been reporting that Damascus had not been affected by ‘rab spring stuff at all, showing the occasional pic of Damascus operating as usual. That’s why Basher still had his trademark stuff-eating-grin on his mush. That grin disapeared a couple days ago and now it looks like Syria is going to get the “full Libyan” treatment. Couldn’t happen to a more deserving bunch of dirtbagz.

Terrible for the people of Damascus - who are generally well-educated and secular. The people doing this are the same ones who make life hell in Iraq.
Many Christian refugees from Iraq have fled to Damascus. Now they find that hell follows them.

Assad’s not a nice guy, but the only thing keeping Christian’s from getting slaughtered there like they are now in Egypt.

Ain’t no difference between the people doing the killing in Detroit and Chicago or Damascus, Baghdad, Kabul (etal).
And I applaud their efforts.
Let those ignorant bastards slaughter each other.
What I disagree with is throwing the lives of people who actually care, at that, like confetti at a parade and expecting me not only to stand and cheer at the loss, but to fund it. Yeah. Then I have a problem.
