The GOP-E were not, of course, the only people to blame in the downing of more promising GOP presidential hopefuls. Obama emboldened the Democrats to pull tricks more dirty than have been seen in decades. It intimidated Sarah Palin from even making a bid. It blew Herman Cain out of the water, when the compassionate gestures of a kind hearted man were flouted as having sexual overtones by a few crazy women who appeared at an awfully convenient time, and got his wife in a dither. The GOP-E’s fault was in faint defense of these persons. But where was the Tea Party when all this was going down? Doubtless they wanted to help but practically they were caught with, no pun intended, pants down.

I don't disagree with anything you say, but it only serves to reinforce my point that conservatives lack the political clout to hold anyone's feet to the fire.

Even when Romney only means we will spend more time in the wilderness with little or no voice.
