The number of unemployed people reached 5,639,500 at the end of March, with the unemployment rate hitting 24.4%, the national statistics agency said. The figures came hours after rating agency Standard & Poor's downgraded Spanish sovereign debt. Official figures due out on Monday are expected to confirm that Spain has fallen back into recession. Earlier this week, the Bank of Spain said the economy contracted by 0.4% in first three months of this year, after shrinking by 0.3% in the final quarter of last year.

Recession...with 24.4% unemployment?...Putting lipstick on a pig perhaps?...sounds like a depression to me!
It wasn’t the socialistic, nanny-state policies that did this. The right people weren’t running the show. It will work next time.
Wonder what the real US numbers are.
i wonder if they figure the u/e rate like 0zero admin does.
I’d actually like to compare our rate to that of other countries after reconciling the rates.
That’s would Obama socialism will do to the USA. And......the Spanish voters threw out the entire socialist party last election, and look what devastation they left for the country and the new political leaders. Shameful!!! Any American voter, and.....i mean “any”, American voter that votes for Barack Hussein Obama is voting to destroy America.
5 million unemployed? Amateurs. 5 million are unemployed in mexifo9rnia alone.
"Miss me yet?"
We are in a depression.
The stock market is an illusion, jmho. It's going to take one shock from the global markets and our stock market is going to fall apart like a house of cards. I don't want this...I just don't see how it can't happen. I live in reality...and that 13,000 number is not going to last for much longer.
I do think individual states may be pulling themselves up...but others, especially CA and Illinois are on the brink of ruin and massive social unrest. Guess that's how Barry's going to try to handle the election, as he sees the pink slip coming...get those race riots going. I'm rather scared for the country.
Spain is like the Titanic, slowly sinking in an ocean of debt.
However the band is still playing, and the ones who haven’t got a boat, hoping that the hull will resist until (economic) daybreak.
5 million unemployed? Amateurs. 5 million are unemployed in mexifo9rnia alone.
_________
lol, amateurs indeed. Our lack of recovery 3.5 years in is, dare I say, “unprecedented.”
True! So glad I’m in the USA.
How that socialism working out for you? Can someone who’s an expert in Spanish history educate me on how the Spaniards are better off now than they were under Francisco Franco?
And ... The only we need around here is a few more hispanics
RE: 5 million unemployed? Amateurs. 5 million are unemployed in mexifo9rnia alone.
If true, then California is arguably WORSE than Spain.
Consider, Spain has a population of 46 million people. California has a population of just 38 Million.
5 million unemployed in California means the unemployment rate is HIGHER in California than in Spain.
As bad as California’s economy is, I still find this unbelievable.
The unemployment rate in California is 11%. The number of unemployed in California is 2,031,378.

That includes all the unemployed illegals up and down the state that are collecting state aid...This group makes it look worse.
Texas is at 7.1% but then we haven’t been hit as hard as other states. I also don’t believe that’s a true number eiher what with so many who have run out of benefits and others who have given up. And if people do find a job it isn’t full time so the company doesn’t have to pay for benefits. Summer is coming up and teens aren’t getting their summer jobs because adults are taking the jobs or the funding just isn’t available. I know the state gov internships and summer jobs have all but dried up. Some state agencies are showing openings on their websites despite the fact that those positions haven’t been funded. This isn’t known by the general public and I suspect it won’t be because our Lt. Gov is out on the campaign trail for US Senate.

Five and a half million?...that's nothing...Obama generates that many before breakfast!!
