Sounds like he’s confirming my belief that the GOP has no intent of taking the white house and will lose many down ticket races.

there's a one-in-three chance we could lose," Boehner said.

He knows it was the tea party that won them the House, and they've spent the last two years ticking them off. If they go into the next election with a ticked off tea party, which is to say, with the rank and file sorely upset at them, they may lose in a land-slide.

Still, they'll run that risk and go with Romney.

They want our votes, its us they don't like.

What a loser! I remember 1994 when they were ALL enthusiastic about getting big numbers in the house. The MSM was saying "Nah! They will get 2 to 4 seats, no way more than 6."

The GOP gained 54 seats. That was with Newt in charge, doing the planning and strategizing. Night before, MSM was IN TOTAL DENIAL and afterward, were ugly about the win--but I am redundant. They are always ugly, not just on special occasions.

The WASHINGTONIANS are always the problem.

Never the solution.

The logical answer is to rotate the capital amongst the states.

"But there's a one-in-three chance we could lose," Boehner said.

He's speaking from the viewpoint of an establishment republican. He knows damn well the GOP as it exists today is OVER; either by the TEA Party or fading away into obscurity by getting an arse whooping when everything is on the table for raw success.

Why is it I feel nothing? Maybe it is because Barack Obama has shown us that a President, especially a democrat communist President, can rule without the House and the Senate. He needs only czars and federal agencies.

Boehner and his bunch are feckless, nadless nincompoops, totally useless.

Why should anyone be pumped that this actually matters anymore?

Wasn't that when one of the major Talking Heads (was it Brokaw?) who said that the voters had a "temper tantrum"?

Odd ... that's what Rally-'Round-Romney types accuse me of when I declare that I'll reject Romney at every turn, even (God forbid) if it comes to O vs R in the General. They think it's about "tantrums." No, it's about changing the leadership.

Hey, Boehner. Why don't you and your feckless buddies simply "compromise" again on another "budget deal" and let 0bama have what he wants again. Then you can change your odds from 1-in-3 to 99-in-100?

But at least you'll get invited to all the nice Beltway cocktail parties!

There is a 100% chance the GOP won’t represent conservatives.

And Boner wonder’s why the GOP is facing extinction.

In other words, being in the leadership isn’t what it’s cracked up to be. All that responsibility takes time away from enjoying the perks.

The dems have the blacks in their pocket. The Repubs think they have the conservatives and TEA Paery in their pockets because we have no place to go. I’m tired of the plantation the Pubs keep me on. I can leave them and will. Romney is already appointing gays who hate Christians.

For nearly two decades, the GOP has delivered a substandard product. Why are they still in business? Isn’t it time to replace this incompentent supplier with someone who will provide an acceptable product?

It was Peter Jennings. He could be so snide and arrogant. I always wished he would go back to Canada, but he actually went much further.

Thank you -- I always forget which it was (they all look alike to me). It's so ironic ... Peter Jennings tells America it had a "temper tantrum" for rejecting liberals, and Romney backers accuse me of threatening a "temper tantrum" when I inform them I'll reject their guy even in the general. Hmmmmm ... Coincidence????

Someone here had been warning about this for over a year.

The buzz on the Dem channel is that they are going to try to paint Romney as an extreme radical conservative to force him in a corner. The most obvious one they already been doing is to tie him to the Ryan plan,,, ie cutting food stamps while cutting taxes on rich guys like himself.

Let's see how he reacts.

There is a myth that “Republican leadership” exists. Speaker “Bonehead” Boehner, Majority Leader Cantor in the House and Minority Leader McConnell in the Senate — what a collection of spineless, gutless, crybaby political hacks these people are. They couldn't lead a group of randy Secret Service agents to a Chinese cat house with a fist full of dollars and a billfold stuffed with credit cards.

If Mittens is the nominee, Obama wins in a landslide that will allow the Donkeys to keep the Senate and capture the House. At that point, America was we have known it, ceases to exist. Great job, GOPee.

Some of the comments on this thread, jeez.

I would rate our chance of losing the House about the same as it was in 2004. 1 in 10 maybe. It’s not gonna happen and we’re favored to take over the Senate, at least narrowly.

Boehner’s point (give us $$$) is well taken though, if you have money to donate give it to House and Senate candidates in close races.
