"If we must have an enemy at the head of Government, let it be one whom we can oppose, and for whom we are not responsible, who will not involve our party in the disgrace of his foolish and bad measures." - Alexander Hamilton
"We don't intend to turn the Republican Party over to the traitors in the battle just ended. We will have no more of those candidates who are pledged to the same goals as our opposition and who seek our support. Turning the Party over to the so-called moderates wouldn’t make any sense at all." -- President Ronald Reagan
"A thing moderately good is not so good as it ought to be. Moderation in temper is always a virtue; but moderation in principle is always a vice." - Thomas Paine 1792

Nor can the NRA claim a long courtship of Romney. In 2002, the lobby did not endorse his run for governor, despite his Meet the Press claim to the contrary. In that race, the NRA gave Romney a B grade, but gave his Democratic opponent, Shannon O’Brien, a sterling A.

Another day, and another Mitt Romney lie exposed.

And another issue where he is found lacking, while the only conservative left in the race, Newt Gingrich, stands head and shoulders on this issue above that lying, left-wing, Progressive Liberal Mitt Romney.

Everyone should watch Newt's whole speech to the NRA. It was mostly an energy policy speech. He goes into way more specifics than Obama does with his solar, wind and algae.

On the God given right to bear arms, Newt was great (with a little history lesson). I don't quite get his UN angle thought. Maybe I am too busy keep my head above water and trying to raise two kids. I just don't give two craps about gun rights in other countries, particularly if they are Muslim nations. Let them kill each other off, they are worthless and evil anyways. I'd rather abolish the UN and deal with legitimate states individually. And for the rest of the world, just don't get in the US of A's way. We can't afford to rebuild nations, but we do have to deplete our weapons inventory before they go stale.
