Waited on line at post office to mail ira deposit today. Line was about 40 people long because of taxes. A NYPD cop just skips the line and walks to the counter. As he was walking back I said, "corrupt cop". He said "he's busy". Like none of the private sector people aren't busy. Then as people started questioning him, saying "aren't we busy too" he said I know, "you pay my salary" and laughed.
Sorry, I meant to say squad ... good catch. LOL!
We use to select one member of our squid to stand in line for all and would contribute to his/her next meal. Worked great.
Training a squid to run your personal errands is quite an accomplishment!
You must be a New Yorker, no one else anywhere says “wait on line” (outside of the computer realm) I’m from Conencticut, and even there, no one uses that turn of phrase.
More then you will ever know. LOL!
Who cleans up the ink?
Or does it go to the squad printer?
Did you tell him you are going to dock his pay and a penalty for doing personal business during work hours.
There is no lunch break in the traditional sense. You eat while in service and you catch a call, you go. Or hopefully you got a buddy that will shag the call for you.
Citizens understand that coppers got to eat, but doing your taxes on the citizen dime equals bad PR. That just shows poor planning on that officer’s part.
As far as I know, the Post Office doesn't offer food for sale...
Some can squirt their ink on command.......
Never seen one stand in line though..........
What else would you use in place of it? Or is it only NY'ers who have to wait on line?
ROFLMAO!
Corrupt? I don’t see it that way.........all I see is a bunch of rude people who have rightly given New Yorkers a bad rep as rude people.
I say that as someone who was born and raised in Brooklyn and who comes from 3 generations of NYPD.
The vicious comments on this thread are beneath contempt and more appropriate for DU - I have always expected better of FReepers
Everyone else waits IN line.
A lot of excuses for corrupt police behavior here. Cops cutting in line is not appropriate. It’s an abuse of authority. I’m glad you said something to the idiot.
“Just another low life jerk”
Really,oh perfect one?
Oh I loved that show.
“Did you tell him you are going to dock his pay and a penalty for doing personal business during work hours.”
And if he’s done the math,,he’ll tell you he makes 65k,, and there are a few million people in NYC,, meaning your contribution to the pay of any individual officer is a fraction of a cent. He might flip you a penny and say “here’s your refund, keep the change”.
Cops are not all rocket scientists,,, but they do learn to handily deal with a lot of smart-ass remarks.
Well baby, many of us don't loan that money to Uncle Sam. And we wait to the last minute to pay what we owe. Interest free I might add.
